Wang Kuang was born in Liaoning and graduated from the Central Academy of Drama as a postgraduate in the Directing Department. He studied piano in high school since childhood and studied cello in the High School Affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music for more than 10 years. He won the Excellence Award of the Stuttgart Conservatory of Music Autumn Chamber Music Competition in Germany.

As a new film and TV actor, Wang Kuang has played an important role in several stage plays he participated in. Among them, "Potential Expenditure" won the International Forum on Asian Drama Education and Research and the First Asian Theater Outstanding Performance Award in the University Drama Festival.
