She appeared on the stage of Tsukiji-za and Moulin Rouge Shinjuku-za , but joined Toho in 1939 (Showa 14) . Beside being a movie actress, she also worked in a tobacco shop, which is her mother's business. In 1940 (Showa 16), she made her movie debut with the movie " Snake Princess " directed by Teinosuke Kinugasa . Furthermore , in the movie " Hideko the Bus Conductor " directed by Mikio Naruse in 1941 (Showa 17), she co-starred with Hideko Takamine as the mother of Okoma .

After 1942 (Showa 18), she disappeared for a short time, but it seems that she returned to the movies in 1949 (Showa 24) after the war . Since then, she has played a supporting role in a wide range of works centered on Toho.

In 1963 (Showa 38), she ran for the Shinjuku Ward Assembly election, but was unsuccessful. Although she continued to work as an actress, there is no record of her appearance since she appeared in the movie " We Will Remember " directed by Zenzo Matsuyama, which was released in 1965 (Showa 40) .
