Her acting career began at Daiei before World War II. In 1946, she joined Bungakuza but left in 1963 to co-found the theater company Kumo with her husband, Kamiyama Shigeru, and others, becoming a central member.
Fumino married Kamiyama Shigeru in 1956. She passed away from a cerebral hemorrhage on July 19, 1987, at the age of 64, following a medical incident while performing on stage.
