After graduating from the Drama Department of the Chinese Arts School, he entered military service with the Artillery Corps. He left the Artillery Corps in 2003 and worked as a lighting technician at TVBS. Later, he was noticed by his agent and fitness instructor, Zhang Chun Chun. At the time, he was hesitant about the instability of income in the entertainment industry. Zhang Chun Chun invited him to work at her company, selling fitness equipment while also arranging for him to take on acting gigs part-time.
On November 7th, 2011, Wen Hsiang married his girlfriend of nearly four years, Gong Shu Qing. In November 2012, their first daughter was born. In January 2015, they had a son, and one year later, in September 2016, they had one more daughter.
On December 29th, 2016, he announced a one-year hiatus from the entertainment industry.
On June 8, 2019, Wen Hsiang was reported by Mirror Weekly to have been photographed kissing artist Xie Xin on the streets of Taipei, causing significant damage to his image as a family man. In June of the same year, Wen Hsiang and Xie Xin's agency, ERA Creative Talent Agency, held a press conference where he publicly apologized. The agency announced that both Wen
Hsiang and Xie Xin would be indefinitely suspended from work to reflect on their actions.
On August 19, 2019, after a two-month suspension, he made his comeback.
