Before debuting, he entered the 1995 MBC Riverside Song Festival with the single "Mrs. Music". It was a unique mix of jazz music and a ballad song that caught the attention of several agencies. He joined M-Boat Entertainment and began his career in 1998, arranging Jang Hye Jin's single "Forever". He later became well-known for producing several hit songs beginning with "Just A Feeling" by S.E.S in 2002.
He is credited as a producer, composer, or arranger in over 600 singles and has worked with almost every major artist in the industry. He is the co-CEO of RBW (알비더블유).
