I tend to agree with you. Lazy scripts orrrr could it be lazy directors not willing to go the extra mile to get…
For real. seems like the industry is too capitalized and originality, creativity and overall quality of work is really losing importance, just making money of selling merch to fandoms and their subscription fees...2023 is already packed with soooo many really interesting looking dramas though. I'm already sensing some change for the better, NRTA is setting some strict rules to kind of improve the quality of scripts and productions so fingers crossed!
!!! I AM GONNA COMPLAIN AND SPREAD HATRED AND NEGATIVITY. DON'T READ IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GOOD DAY !!!! Lol I…
Btw I personally consider this a watchable drama...I nagged a lot but I still don't think it's awful lol. On a side note, one thing bothers me a LOT and it's the fact that it being set in Republican era has absolutely no impact on the story. It's just there to make it more aesthetic unfortunately...and it's a wasted opportunity

Lol I have to stick to this show bc of subs translation and all and thoughts started in my mind as I was watching the recent episodes. I figured out a certain storytelling structure in fantasy/romance cdramas that is starting to get on my nerves which is reincarnated lovers who have amnesia, 2 dimensional MCs whom the writer tries to force us to think are really amazing and deep characters but are just uninteresting archetypes (they have "characteristics" and personality traits to come off as cool rather than actual psychological and emotional depth), and then bc the backstory the 2 mains had in their past life canNOT be stretched for more than 10 episodes, the rest of the show is about the good good main leads being the righteous saints they are, doing charity work for "misunderstood" non-human species, and it really doesn't matter what's their job or their personality. They can be bandits and gods and devil lords but they're still good, kind and love helping people. That's good but like...I want characters that have their own struggles and inner demons! (I don't necessarily mean antiheros or villain MCs who don't pass censorship lmao. but if we're being real, censorship isn't an excuse for bad character writing.) And then, the conflicts in those charity work series of stories are solved with inventing some magic and plot armor every now and then, or in short, lazy writing. I have seen this pattern a GOOD bunch of times within this genre and I do not think it's looking good for the industry lmao. Just realized how disappointing and un-fun most of this year's idol dramas were in general and it made me sad...
The way this is giving me serious 2000s college romcom nostalgia :(((( not in the mood to watch anything at all only and only waiting for this one to cure my depression...drop it youku
Some people need to stop guilt tripping and gaslighting the ones who are seriously offended by this show...Like…
Btw you can believe whatever you want to but I really didn't know anything about this man when I went into this drama and watched those 6 episodes and it sucks anyway...with or without ZH being the person he is lmfao
Some people need to stop guilt tripping and gaslighting the ones who are seriously offended by this show...Like…
If you're so human, so caring and so benevolent, you would not support him for the sake of hundreds of talented people that didn't make it to the industry while he had connections with higher ups cleaning his dirt for him, swiping money everyday...You should be sympathizing with underpaid staff and crew who were highly probably treated badly when they were working with him. No reason and no need for you to cry about ppl "having something against Zhan Han" when he's a bad person who has been stepping on others' job opportunities to climb his way up where he is now. Or is it that your conscience and righteousness just sparks for celebrities??? lol
Some people need to stop guilt tripping and gaslighting the ones who are seriously offended by this show...Like stop telling ppl they "don't understand" cause they're "too young" or whatever tf...you're not the only one in this world who has been around men, you being old doesn't mean everybody is a teenager and even if ppl have anything against ZH, there's no fucking reason for you to get mad about it lmao...That man is a literal violent criminal???? WHY are you so concerned about people being biased against him?? so what if they are????
I wish the same costume designers that worked on Love Between Fairy and Devil were working on this drama. I hope…
the costume designer actually worked with a youku drama as well though (Go princess go 2), they can work with other production teams, no restriction in that. But the stylist is someone else here
This production team have butchered so many stories that were female centric or had powerful and important female characters but the original story for this one was just so good they didn't manage to ruin it even with all the changes...Regardless of what people say, Xuanji will forever be ICONIC, her story, eventhough the drama didn't focus on her emotions and the sadness she went through, was absolutely epic and Crystal slayed. FULL STOP. Glad Bingyan will forever stay away from anything related to Hunarui now or she would be used as a plot device for men to get their promo again and again 🤦🏻♀ I'm just happy for all women who leave this company lmao
