As much as I think Songyun has the skill and talent to be a serious actress, I'm glad she's finally getting some fun shows to act in instead of those boring "realistic" modern dramas she's been stuck in for some time now. The company that made this has many very decent shows under it's name so I just KNOW this is gonna be fun and pretty 😭 And there's minghao face card being cherry on top here

((long analysis incoming))Like i get it, douban users are haters at times but they really wouldn't rate a show low if it does actually have a logical and entertaining plot and decent production even if it's an idol drama 😭 I don't exactly know what was going on with cntez when this aired but I have my guesses. Besides from the billing drama and fandom fights, CP is a VERY popular game in chn so whoever creating whatever piece of media under this title is gonna be under extreme scrutiny from game fans. And also there exists THEE cp1 and cp3 remakes (with Hu Ge,Yangmi, liu yifei, liu shishi etc) from the 2000s that are also crazy popular in china and everybody loves them; so any actor playing the characters in the new remakes is at disadvantage of being compared to very legendary senior actors lol...I do agree that the new generation of pretty boys are not nearly as good as the actors who used to be popular back then (and that CZY is definitely not Hu Ge level of charismatic lmao) but the poor kids in this drama didn't do hald as bad as cntez made it look like 😭

I genuinely believe this would be one of them if all the shitty fandom drama didn't happen and if this wasn't a CP remake...It makes me so sad cause JJY has not been getting the kindest feedback from ppl in her acting career and this was actually such a surprisingly great performance and overall drama from her which could definitely be her redemption arc 😭like I'm not saying it's a masterpiece but it's just SUPER fun to watch and there's not stupidity and unbelievable lack of reason or even unwatchably bad acting disturbing you from having fun watching it
Just really damn sad to see what happened to SAF4 😭 I've loved her sooo much as an idol so it made me really frustrated to see how much hate she got bc of bad dramas and green acting and she finally gets a decent, actually entertaining drama with a logical plot AND a lovely character to play and it got dragged to hell and back in mainland chn for all the billing drama and shit...like it could've been the biggest redemption for her acting career and totally changed how ppl perceive her as an actor if the show's team and cnetz weren't so petty
