Honestly I am just going to watch any drama aired for the fun of it, I already know nothing will replace A Splendid Match, because I know their ML won’t give me the same masculine energy I got from A Splendid Match.

The drama is a solid 10, even though I wanted more from the ending, that ending is not enough to take away how good the drama was.

Unfortunately the first people that reviewed the show are the ones that don’t like it, if you go down more reviews you will see the people that genuinely love it and understand the depth the drama has.

Unfortunately we cannot do anything about people’s opinions and likes. That is why I pray other people that haven’t watched the show will not swayed by those first few reviews and give the show a chance.

I have rewatched this drama so many times that I think I might actually have a problem at this point. 😅 Throughout all those rewatches, one thing I’ve consistently noticed is the chemistry and magnetic pull between Chen Yan Yun and Jin Zhao, the way he looks at her, he never looked at anyone like that.

Honestly, I never once saw any romantic attraction between YeXian and Jin Zhao. To me, their relationship always felt more like that of siblings, built on familiarity rather than romance. Besides I don’t even want them together, with all that she had been through she needed a man and not a boy. The way I see it, if they did end up together he would have beaten her one day, he has pulled a weapon on her not once, not twice…three times. I actually love his character especially towards the end but I saw no chemistry.

With Chen Yan Yun, however, I noticed a spark from the very first episodes. The attraction didn’t suddenly appear out of nowhere for me; the drama was building it from the beginning and they cannot rush that because of the age thing. Of course, that’s just my opinion , and everyone is free to see it differently.

Exactly, I don’t know why we needed to see them with kids, we all have imaginations we can use that to creat whatever Happy Ending scene we wanted.

What I actually wanted more of towards the end was to see the kingdom adjust to the death of the evil people and the young emperor ruling in peace.

But even with all that. I am completely satisfied with the drama. Are the main leads alive at the end? If yes, then I am happy.

I also agree with you regarding YeXian, even thou I love his battle scenes, the focus on him towards the end was tad bit too much

I think one of my best episodes was 38 & 39. Absolutely love it. And remember at the beginning Chen Yan Yun told Jin Zhao that for change to occur, blood must be shed. What an amazing drama

This is fantastic, I also thought of something exactly like this and posted on my tiktok some days back because I am so curious to watch how the Young Emperor is going to grow to become a great ruler. And also curious how the Chen family being his greatest ally will assist him in this.

Same! I thank the Cdrama Industry for giving me such an amazing Actor. I started this drama not knowing any of the Actors and had no expectations and now I have found my people and my drama.

It takes alooooot for a drama or actor to get to me, the only drama that did this before was The Untamed with Xiao Zhan who’s eye acting won me over. And now Cisha with thesame eye acting skills. Love love love it.

I am also amazed that she was criticized for crying for her friend. Shocking to me.

A friend that has been there for her, a friend that her husband has been guiding to become a better man and uphold the Ye Family Honor, a friend that left the city to the border to ensure that she arrives safely. Even Chen Yan Yun understood this and was grateful.

That was why at the end, YeXian and Chen Yan Yun did become allies

I feel thesame. I am enjoying the deleted scenes now because I miss the drama so much but I get why those scenes where cut.

We all have different opinions and likes. It is rated high because a lot of people connected with it. For example I am not crazy about Pursuit of Jade, but I am happy that the drama did so well because that is people’s hardwork. Because it is not my thing doesn’t mean it cannot be someone else’s thing.

I don’t see it, everything was exceptionally done, nicely executed and well written to me. Also the MLs Aura is the one thing that kept increasing.

I don’t want to talk too much on your post because you have the right to your own opinion and I respect that. Different taste, different views. Dont mind my comment here, I know we can’t all like thesame thing.

I must be different because I did not see any problem with her crying over YeXian at all . She lost her friend, the only reason he was there in the first place was to ensure she gets to the border safely. Even Chen Yan Yun was grateful.

He deserves an award for his role as a supporting actor. He did amazing

I want to say we shouldn’t be upset that the special episode is not another ending. This drama has already wrapped up filming that it will be tooo expensive to call back the Actors to act and for the directors to direct again. So all we will get are deleted scenes, all dramas have deleted scenes. I personally don’t mind. I love A Splendid Match so much that the ending is not enough to make me change my mind.

I feel the same. The drama was supposed to be longer than 40 episodes. Whoever directed this show is used to directing really long dramas. They really tried to cut it down. Nevertheless I still love it so much and I thank the Cdrama world for giving me such a wonderful drama.
