Oh you got the vibe correct. The whole point of the show was for him to have an “Uncle Vibe” or “Dad Vibe”. He portrayed exactly what he was suppose to from the book. In the book he is much older and calmer. He did a fantastic job nailing that role for a young guy. And for you to complain about that meaning he did an AMAZING Job.

Oh we definitely have different views on what we consider “manipulation” I do not agree with you that hiding the clothes thing was a bad thing, it wasn’t. Same with the cast iron fireworks. Naaa he isn’t. You might like him better that is fine. He was obviously young and had to grow up which he did, and I love and respect his character-growth-journey. And in his growing up he realised that Chen Yan Yun was not the enemy.

Same. A drama hasn’t pulled me this strong in a really long time. The ML was exactly what he was suppose to be handsome, masculine, calculative, strong, matured unlike the pretty boys they usually cast that look like the wind could blow them away. I pray to see him in more historical dramas. This drama was done well. I love it

Totally agree. I couldn’t connect to some of these new cdramas with the ML looking like a pretty face and too skinny for the role they are playing.

Exactly. Anything she needed to know that won’t cause a misunderstanding Chen Yan Yun was always straight with her and that is why he was hurt. Couples face issues and they resolve it all the time…so even if he was upset I am glad they overcame that challenge

The issue with the clothes is just to help his wife, same also with the cast iron fireworks that he organized for her. It wasn’t a secret that would damage a relationship. That is not a secret that carries any implications
