No it’s not the case now, in part 1 Buyeon’s soul was alive and trapped Naksu’s energy. She also got to use the energy ( Buyeon’s energy) more than once actually. She was able to see the broken jades that Cho Yeon blamed on her and she opened Jinyowon relics door.

This time though her soul and energy is fuelling Buyeons body( Buyeon soul is dead) but the body apparently still have the Jin DNA so that’s why she’s inherited the Devine Priestess gift to use for herself.
