ML and FL look hella cute together. I thought Ester Yu was the only one who could pull off the innocent and cute character vibe without making us cringe, but FL here is doing so well, too. The premise of this drama feels like Love You Seven Times, but with some changes. I am at episode 4 and am liking it so far. I watched the behind-the-scenes of where they reshoot some of the scenes, and oh man, it must have been hard for them because acting without much context and mostly with green screen (because they can't completely recreate the scenes and the setting of them together so they will mostly opt for edits), especially for the FL.
The drama be named divorce insurance, but serving us with one of the best main couple. I love the ML and FL of this drama, both are good people who have had their fair share of misfortunes in life. The overall theme is good too, the comedy doesn't seem forced, and the interactions between the characters seem natural. One can clearly see that the drama is about making marriages seem good and in a better light by taking the approach that one should get out of a relationship if they are not happy and have differences that cannot be changed or circumvented. They are trying to show what makes a marriage work and what can break it, when you should continue and when you should stop, what you should value and what you should not compromise on, etc. of course not that deep but somewhat they are touching on those topics with a lighthearted tone and blend of comedy. So far, the drama is interesting. Let's see how the rest of the drama goes.
[Watched till episode 4] The ML is just awesome, the best character in the drama so far (maybe the one who will suffer the most too). How he interacts with everyone seems so natural; moreover, he is determined, resilient, kind, and hardworking. FL is good too she is just a bit annoying, but is a bit considerate too.
ML's mother reminds me of Li Rong's mother from princess royal. They both are too dumb for politics, are easily manipulated, don't know how to value their children, and somehow are unhappy when their not so favourite child gets something they want. Thank god ML was raised in the southern fort if not he too might have turn out like Li Rong who had to again go through a lot to free herself up from all the scars her family gave her.
Oh my god this drama is a gift for our souls π. The stunning visuals of the leads and the beautiful scenery of the resort painted in snow is mesmerizing. (the characters look so fluffy in their winter wear)
I was wondering why the speed of their romance was fast but then I saw 23 episodes in the counter and it kind of made sense. Although as per the theme I believe it is much bigger for just a 23 episode plot, I hope there is not much compromise in the depth of the story. Till now the only problem I have is they weren't successful in highlighting the male lead as someone who has a good standing in his field and is a star coach and player. Instead of making him get called master by nearly every person in the drama they should add scene to make us feel it without explicit mention. Even with FL the buildup for her profession to us really vague it doesn't feel like they are supposed to be famous people with unparalleled skills.
Episode 22 is awesome, I liked that the author didn't just brush off the whole thing rather made FL and her friend face things a bit. Although it will all be resolved soon enough (considering they start dating in episode 25 or something) but at least they now understand the weight of the situation they have created. The ML's reaction was on point the actor portrayed it really well, we can feel his confusion, sorrow and anger in the scene.
What the hell, in episode 20 we have ML blaming himself of yet another death, great!! π (the amount of psychological stress this guy is going through is enormous, him still now losing his sanity is commendableπ’ I guess that's why he is the ML here cause anyone else in the show would not have handled it so well atleast not the ones who have been suggesting all these tactics while saying he is a grown man so he should be able to handle this much)
Life of ML: has rare condition where he sees 4 colors has extra sensitive eyes that require intensive care. His first love dies tragically for which he blamed himself, he later falls for someone and feels guilty and self loathe, the he again blames himself for liking the new girl but half heartedly as he loves her but also not which he doesn't understand, even consults a psychologist, decides to help her in her treatment looses his love again. And the way he has being drinking all this time. I think the author has a grudge against himππ. As fas ar I know he will even lose his ability to see colors temporarily.
In terms of romance best thing is definitely muchhhh better tho still not a great drama.
I think the misunderstandings ML has of FL and FL has of ML in this drama are not that unbelievable or unrealistic both lived thier lives a certain way experiencing certian things like all of us did, it's wasn't that they wanted to think that way about each other it's just how things happened around them that made them think so and no one is immune to that.
In episode 11 already seeing ML blaming himself for falling for someone else makes me a bit sad but I couldn't stop laughing (because of the way they introduced thay topicπ). So he fell for someone else after his first love died and he is feeling guilty because he moved on too fast, can't imagine how he will be like in case he fell for the FL and some other form of her at the same timeππ (and what if it a old lady or a animal or a guy) π€£π. His friends will disown him well if he doesn't disown himself first ππ€£. FL is her own competition in this drama and also the one causing problems for her own love life (although without t all these she wouldn't have know how ML is actually like and same goes for him as he too misunderstood her a lot).
In episode 11, the sinister plot set by the author start now, from now on he will maybe fall for all the version of her and will suffer due to guilt, oh the confusion it is going to cause for him. Poor him he won't even know he is falling for the same person again and again.
WTH did I just found out the women FL's brother in law was dating was the princessπ. When I heard her voice I was like "I have heard this before wait that can't be happening" π, I know she was dumb but that's a strange way to take revenge considering she is a princess (royalties never directly involve themselves until necessary like grand princess, crown prince, ML and ML's father in this drama). Maybe it will be where ML's identity will be revealed considering grand Princess is here, so to save FL and others he might reveal his identity and maybe he can because we are not exactly in the imperial city.
god this is an example of lazy writing, in what world do judges take dreams as a proof and not only that, he asked…
I don't know if you know but religion was a big thing in those times if you study history you will find much more startling things then this. Plus it was not the dream that won people over (they were doubtful all the time) but the one who details she told which are impossible to know unless she was there or the dream thing is true. So considering how superstitious and religious people used to be their inclination towards her dream being true is not that odd. If you look at it FL and ML both are branded and treated as people who bring miss fortune that doesn't make sense either but it does for people of those times and to many even now. Ofcourse they didn't pulled it off that well they could have used an oracle route which is often seen in dramas to solve or conspire in these situations, maybe they wanted to try it in a new way but lacked in creative it convicting enough for us. (also, take it easy we are watching a drama where FL is a regressor like that too itself is not logicalπ). Don't stop watching the drama as you will missout on a good story (just my personal belief as per the plot till now).
Now we have two love struck idiots going after the Jiang siblings π. I guess grandma will end up having the most powerful family in the country, one grandchild married to a prince while the other is married to a famous generals daughter. Also after episode 14 I believe ML's real identity will soon be revealed. I guess ML knows that grand princess already knows about him, because the way he gave the guards she sent a warning felt as if he was talking to her as a prince not a govt official. Plus she will also not sit back and let him cause trouble for her.
From ep 1-3, i believe the drama is well focused on the importantance of perspective rather than appearance. During their childhood FL saw ML as her crush so everything she did was to look better for him and chase him, while due to his sensitivity (he has maybe something to do with colors considering he puked at the party) he was introverted and saw her as threat. In present when they meet although he showed no enmity he still sees her as his bully and still hasn't learn how to talk properly (cause he messes up everything he says) but that too depends on perspective (we hear what we want to). When FL changes appearance ML sees her as his crush that's why now whatever she does he likes her but now FL has different perspective so she is judging his while he is still on bad terms with FL due to his perspective of her. So in short atleast for ML and FL in this drama the story is around perspective and not appearance (usually they go for personality but this makes sense too).
So, the ML called her ugly and took her photo was not because she was his enemy rather he saw her makeup as a research subject π π€£. I thought he wanted to take revenge on her so he added fuel to the fire.
In episode 1, can't believe they want us to see FL as ugly. Like how? in what universe? They seriously put makeup on her to make her look bad when it doesn't even match with her skin tone, and even in that she looks better than her sister who is supposed to be the prettier one ππ.
In the past life, what is the timeline that FL married her original fiance and then met and fell in love with…
It's like she got married and after her family member died as shown in episode 1, she was sent to somewhere near ML's camp where they meet. (I tried to write with as little spoilers as possible cause I can't remember at episode 6 how much of past has been revealed).
I was wondering why the speed of their romance was fast but then I saw 23 episodes in the counter and it kind of made sense. Although as per the theme I believe it is much bigger for just a 23 episode plot, I hope there is not much compromise in the depth of the story.
