I am only on episode 1, and the way they are treating the ML is already making me so mad! I know the writers are going to give us some backstory to explain it all, but it is just too extreme. He is actually trying to talk things out and stick to his principles, but literally everyone including the FL is against him. Sure, they’re setting it up so that the FL is secretly in his side, but on the outside? She treats him like absolute garbage. Imagine being in his shoes, living every day with someone who constantly shows you they hate you.
When she threw away that symbol of their relationship like it meant nothing, it felt like there was zero hope for fixing their marriage. But honestly? The only reason she feels comfortable treating him this badly is that she knows he will sit there and take it silently forever. The look on her face when he finally dropped the "divorce" word was pure shock—like, "Wait, you weren't supposed to do that!" even though she was going on and on about their marriage being completely broken. It is so obvious that something bad happened to her and she doesn't know how to deal with it, so she is just projecting all her anger and guilt onto him, knowing he’ll stay and take the hit.
"One can take things, but they don't necessarily become theirs" fits the SFL's character in the drama so well. She wrongfully accused FL and took FL's place in her company, projects, etc. She now even has FL's manager and assistant working for her. But the director of the project still wants FL for the role, FL's team is still loyal to her, and the company head, although he acts like a scumbag, feels like he has some agenda of his own going on in the background. Hope she pays for what she has done, instead of hiding behind her not-so-sobbing story.
Consider how the show is hinting at making ML find his passion and dream. I think it can be either or both of these things: 1. Fighting crime and corruption, as he has lived most of his life in the exact opposite way. 2. Having a real family of his own, where actual bonds govern the relationship, not just benefits, as his clients and his father (the actual one), etc., are in a benefit-based relationship with him. His friends and FL might end up becoming his real family or something.
Ep 18: What the hell is wrong with the Li Siblings? Le Jun is like, "Well, at least I didn't killed you; if i was ruthless enough, I would have killed you both," as if FL is supposed to feel any good about this whole situation. If by chance Le Jun was not caught and FL really didn't know who killed her mom, Le Jun would actually live as if nothing happened, blatantly around the FL. And then there is her brother who is like, "I won't be friends with you as you sent my sister to prison.", bro she killed someone and was actually going to kill all witnesses too. Like what the hell?
So they made the ML look so strong and powerful, and now they nerfed him with the concussion and blindness, i guess this drama is going to be sad and gloomy with lots of angst. And let me guess: he will live but will be blind, most of his family will die, he will either lose the army or will give it away, and retire to live in a forest with FL after 1-2 divorces.
I am in episode 4 at the edict part now, and when the emperor said, "No matter what edict i issue today, are you willing to stand with Xiao Wiyi, through fortune and misfortune, and share life and death?" it felt more like a marriage vow😭😂😂. Like FL doesn't have a chance; we already have our dream pairing😂😂. Jokes aside, in my personal opinion, it's better if ML just overthrows the emperor and makes the SML the king; that way everyone gets the happy ending (although FL will be married to the SML then and this feels more like the climax of a drama, not the prologue), but that way the whole series would end in the next episode😂.
the story is all over the place!!! its a drama on law yet not even one case is clearly explained, we don't exactly know when one was closed and another one started, which ones are going on in parallel, which ones involve the ML and which ones involve the FL and which ones are being handled by both. No depth to the cases, no background, we are thrown straight into the courtroom. I like both the ML and FL and also the side characters so i am holding on just for the sake of seeing them all get a happy ending (really hoping the leads to end up together). Other then that the story just doesn't seem like one where the focus is on the cases or the lessons learnt from them, or redemption arcs, just nothing. Its hard to even tell what the main focus is in this drama.
So at this point, even if they start dating, it won't seem that convincing, nor do we have enough episodes to actually see them together. They do this very often with kdramas that have 12 episodes, the starting episodes are good with lots of scenes where leads are together, followed by complete and utter chaos, which feels like it's never gonna get over, and somehow 11th episodes and now everything make sense somehow, and is resolved, the leads are now together, and we have a happy ending.
ML:"Look at that glare, as if I were some scheming consort whispering poison into the emperor's ear." Also, ML pretends to fall on FL. If that's not a scheming consort move, then I don't know what is🤣
It refreshing that for once we have a drama where FL already knows about the ML's identity and we will not have to go through all that "you faked your identity, I hate you" plotline. Rather, we have FL, who clearly knows about the ML, and on top of that, is actually protecting him and playing along in whatever scheme he crafts for his gains. Both are clearly head over heels for each other.
In episode 4, liking it so far. The fighting sequences are good, and the CGI is top-notch. I like the ML and FL, not much sure about the other characters. The only thing that amazes me is why such a big organization like this one doesn't have a single good doctor on their side, like wherever or whenever FL meets anyone new, turns out they have a disease, and somehow she is the only one with the cure😂😂.
[watched till episode 5] I think FL should not let the bias that the SML will be a good guy just because he was written so in the script. Why? simply because many things are different than what she remembered from the script. Personally I find it a bit strange that the king, the prince (the other one not the ML), and the SML, do not feel much guilt about losing 3 cities, thousands of soldiers, and citizen, they all are just busy in their own games, pretending to be working for the greater good while somehow always being against the ML. ML is more of a villain born out of the actions of others but of course, that doesn't give him the right to become a bad guy.
I guess this is the first transmigration drama for me where the writer of the story/script is actively participating to make sure the story remains on track. It also reveals how much more is present in the story's universe beyond what is written in the story. But later part of the drama is going to be heartbreaking because most probably ML will have to cheat on FL and marry her younger sister, while FL will die towards the end (and maybe they will meet again in the future like in the romance of tiger and rose). Whenever anything that can affect the main plot happens, everyone's behaviour is updated to sync them back with the main plot, irrespective of how they feel.
I haven't yet completed episode 2, but I am sure about some things: FL likes ML (but for some reason keeps him at a distance), and FL and SML are not exes. I think it's more like people just thought they dated, and FL never said anything for or against it (considering her personality).
Started slow but ended with a bang. The first episode was a mix of many things. To start with, they somehow made a crime-centric drama this slow, like that's hard to pull off. And I think they should have introduced them in the beginning, I think they tried to increase the impact by doing that in the end of the episode, but the episode was too slow paced so many people were just barely hanging on due to the actor/actress they liked, or many just simply left. But but but from the point ML's was hit by the car, the theme shifted, it became dark, mysterious, and there was this sense of adrenaline rush in the air "what's going on? What's going to happen? Are they being targeted?, etc." And from the moment the Good Boy song started playing in the background (I suppose that the name of the song, since it was written so on the screen on FL), it was just fire. For me, the FL and ML took the spotlight in the fight sequence, the way both were fighting with the music in the background, Oh my Oh my!!!!!!! can't wait for when they will fight alongside each other (Mr. and Mrs. Smith style). To add cherry on top, there could be romance between them too!!!! Can't wait to see how the story moves forward and how the team dynamics will be.
The way FL and ML are fighting to gain leverage for their respective clans, makes me think they might end up unifying the whole country at this rate😂😂😂.
I started watching this drama after watching a ton of reels on it. And I have to confess I thought that the ML was a bad guy from the edits who doesn't treat FL well (like he insults and rejects her only to end up becoming her caregiver after her memory loss). But after watching the episode 1 (upto the marriage past) I think him not accepting the FL makes sense. Like nobody in their right minds would llike to be abducted, drugged, forced to get married, even more so that this family is a suspect in ML's master's case. One can see that its Not a very good combination to start a relationship. Plus he is also involved in some controversial investigation so he is be even more inclined to reject FL to keep her out of danger.
