Are FL and ML related? (I am in episode 2 but WTH)

I have a doubt.

I am not able to exactly point out but there is something different about this series in terms of cinematography or maybe editing, but it feels different and refreshing. Moreover, it's been a while since we had a drama on just comedy, there are a few of these every year but they are all gems.

I am at episode 18, and although I don't usually support breaking up for the greater good or other person's safety here the writer actually made the point work. FL was in prison, the evidence wasn't on her side, he got attacked, then the whole thing with his parents and estates situation. So, if he can get attacked so easily, how will she not get struck in prison or after her expulsion, also his uncle is not that easy to deal with due to how good his people are at clearing out evidence thus ML can't beat him at least in the near future. No, wonder he believed she was safe away from him in protection of his secret guards (I am not that sure but I saw him getting regular updates on her).

I want the end in which ML is the royal advisor (with his hearing returned) and FL becomes the music minister, while ML's uncle and FL's sister are both removed from their titles while his uncle is also sentenced to exile, that would be so satisfactory. I'm not too fond of ML's uncle and FL's sister they are like a match made in heaven in terms of their personality😂. Although, I don't like how the SML is all that clingy and ready to take his chance whenever even a minuscule amount of problem happens between our leads, apart from that he is a nice character. But what makes me pitty him even more is the fact that his main love interest is supposed to be Huang Ying, the most crazy and impulsive character in the drama so far😂. I hope the writer doesn't make this drama another one where both or either of the leads leave their title to live a commoner's life but rather one of those where both end up being a power couple with their powers intact. Can't wait for it to end tomorrow.

it is a different take for a crime thriller vigilante kind of drama, but the acting, the CGI, and the story progression are straight-up awesome🔥. Moreover, the role Park Shin Hye is playing is so complex in just 2 episodes she had to play 3 different characters (the original soul of the body, the demon, and the criminal during his trial), and the way things are I believe there will be more similar instances. There is the mystery about ML's case which I believe will be the main focus that will somehow also involve the assemblymen's family. I loved the first 2 episodes the action, the pace, the scenes are really good. Also, Rejoice kdrama fans we now have a demon who is a judge from hell😂.

I took a pause after episode 25 to binge this drama once it ended but I was shocked after reading the recent comments and the trailer. It seems there is a royal decree granting (forcing) another marriage on Shen Du and that too with a princess. But as far as I know, FL was the legal wife of ML and there can only be one legal wife while all the other are counted as concubines which in most cases are people from peasant or lower backgrounds. The legal wife is the one who has all the privileges and power of the household. Plus most dramas I have seen, to avoid being granted such marriages people either tried or got married to the one they liked early on or secretly, making them their legal wife as no one issues a royal decree for concubines (like why would they). Another thing is, wasn't the Empress all about women's empowerment and liked FL's attitude and achievements? Why is she suddenly like, "I like you girl, but let me add another woman in your life who will fight with you for the rest of her life for the attention of the love of your life, while you are under the constraint threat of being driven out of you own home. Best of luck for your career while you handle the mess I made for you." quite a strange way to reward someone, isn't it?

I am a bit confused!!

I too know that what ML did was not a good thing but people not forgiving him no matter what actually surprised me. I guess they are just taking the route of if you lie you are a bad guy, if you kill then you are a bad guy, while many will agree with both the things above, what if the person lying is a loyal spy of a country trying to get information or what if the person who kills is the soldier who is assigned to protect people they will change their stance. I think Instead of general truth which is often the least applicable people should see things unbiased and judge in accordance with the situation and people at hand, they should be both pragmatic and emotional to some extent (I know it feels contradictory but facts coupled with right emotions are the ones that lead to good results). Well, at least that's what I believe.

[Update] Okay so now it is somehow okay for He Zhen to marry a lord (ML's friend) who is also a businesswoman (and the same independent genre one) but our FL who is in the same situation with much much more supportive ML can't do the same somehow.

everything is good and fine in this drama, the pacing is good, and the characters are loving but... The problem I have with cdramas is that either they make MLs too cold and stern or they make them too gullible (especially for the FLs) either they are trying to kill her, or make her suffer, or are going around throwing their self-respect out of the window for the FLs. We have the later case in this drama (I am only at episode 27 so this comment is based on till that episode.). Isn't he "The Lord" who even makes the empress fear that he might take the throne after a few more accomplishments, or the brilliant strategist who pulled off all he did in the first half of the drama? But after the first half, he is being treated quite unfairly, he gets beaten by his mother for wanting to marry the love of his life (well that is okay to some point), and he is run over by the new king the moment he meets him, the FL freaking stabbed him and from that moment onwards treated him like a trash can over and over again, yet he is helping the king, alongside running around the FL like a puppy while she still treats him badly. At this point I think he should straight out leave her, I know love is important and all but he has done all he could from the start of episode 1 he treated her well, supported her, protected her, and tried all sorts of things to make sure she is happy, fought his family to marry her, trusted her even when he knew who she actually was, was even ready to die by her hands, isn't it all enough. But no, the writer is now going around throwing the independent FL card just to increase the number of episodes and in turn, we have to see him suffer even more. Previously when her assassination attempt failed I thought maybe this was because she was pushing him away but no for god knows what reason she thinks independence is not to marry, not to care about someone romantically, etc. At this point I feel sorry for ML and his guards, they all tried too hard, I hope he gives up and goes back to the capital and the writers should at least show some respect to ML's actions and feelings by making FL at least pretend to try to chase ML (which of course has never happened in the history of these kind of dramas but well sometimes we do hope for the impossible.).

quite an interesting drama, it takes a different approach where rather than having too many villains or a clear villain we have all these characters actually being political and keeping each other in check, and rather than rash assassinations we have some good well-thought-out decisions. Also, it seems as if the author has written the pacing pretty differently from other dramas, actually, it's not just this maybe this is a new trend where there are deliberate misunderstandings in the plot but they don't last long we have people who are actually talking in about 2-3 episodes instead of more than half of the drama. The couples (as in the newer dramas) appear more favorable of each other quite early in the story rather than going through the same coldness for 20 episodes. The love triangles too do not seem much like a threat but rather a part that makes the confession come early. I don't know a lot about dramas but I like this one. The difference in color and clothing at the start contrasted the difference in personalities of the 2 characters (one dark with white while the other colorful and cheerful) even when they were on the same street it seemed as one side there was a funeral possession going on during a light-hearted healing drama on the other. But as soon as they got married his side started to change which complimented his personality. Let's see if the story holds up till the end.

I know there is no romance in this drama but still the part in episode 10 where Han Su and Seo Jin are sitting at the bus stop sharing opinions felt so natural. They have contrasting personalities but are working towards similar goals and indirectly influencing each other to become better makes them an ideal pair if there was romance in this drama (not that I am complaining).

It's the first shape-shifting/curse drama where we are down to the last 4 episodes yet neither the ML (who is usually the first to discover) nor FL's parents know anything about it. Also, with episodes, there is even less info about the case that is supposed to be the plot for the mystery. From the very first episode if we count the progress it is that we have a new victim and a hint that FL's aunt might be a victim too. Other than that nothing, plus we don't even know about the serial murder case in-depth, no story of any victim or connection between them, and not much backstory either. I think in the last episode FL will just get kidnapped like she did in ep 12 and then ML will somehow connect all the invisible dots (invisible cause we don't know them at all) and save her, thus, solving the case as a side quest. The good thing about this drama is the slow burn romance of FL and ML (thank god they started dating in ep 12 at least something in the story changed after about 11 episodes since episode 1). This series would be so much better if there were more scenes of FL and ML together and about the case investigation, rather than the repetitive FL and SML scenes, the office scenes, the FL and her best friend's scene, and the elderly cleaning crew like I know they do seem as some scenes that will be repeated but every episode seriously every episode and that too without much change.
One last thing, I have recently noticed that many dramas have romance tags in them even though they barely qualify to be slow-burn romance. Is it to draw in the audience? or is it by mistake? Not to mention this drama has wrong tags like student female lead, former soldier supporting character, and Idol male lead?????

It was from the start that he was interested in her. He is portrayed as a cold uncaring character given how he is all crazy when he is working. If he was not that cold his assigned investigator would know about it. On the other hand, we can see how differently he treats FL right from the start although not considerate enough, each encounter was a step up from the one before, plus his expression, his smile (you can even see him laughing sometimes and he was even humming the song FL sang on the call), etc. are all signing towards his feelings for FL.

Episodes 3rd and 4th were straight out of fire. Although, the back-and-forth felt a bit repetitive but the combination of all the characters with their distinct roles and personalities keeps you engaged. Two things I especially found intriguing were, 1. There were a lot of Koo Han Su and Yun Seo Jin scenes (I hope they have more scenes in upcoming episodes it feels so good watching 2 contrasting characters together), 2. Sin Cha Il, Koo Han Su, and Yun Seo Jin felt like a real team this time around. The pacing of the plot is decent (a bit fast) and the ending scene of the 4th episode feels like the real story will start now.

Xiao Yi Xiao seems to be the chillest business owner ever, most of his scenes are dating, clubbing, drinking tea, and holding meetings. Rather than Han Ting, Xiao Yi Xiao feels more like someone from a rich family with generational wealth🤣🤣. Now, coming back to the main topic I feel Han Ting gives Zeng Di way too many opportunities to mess things up, he goes around firing people who don't follow him or do wrong stuff but he lets Zeng Di do whatever she wants while clearly knowing more or less everything she is doing (she is a CEO, he can get her fired I believe). I guess the writers are doing this just so that she can one day threaten FL's business and then make a deal with Han Ting where now Han Ting has to breakup with FL to save her business and the writers aren't doing it right now because FL's business is still in starting phase and their relationship hasn't started to get deep yet.

Wait aren't Shao Yi Chen (SYC) and Ji Xing (JX) in a really stable relationship, SYC seems like a nice guy too. Just tell me that our ML Han Ting isn't a homewrecker right? I am on episode 4. Unlike other dramas where ML or FL are in a relationship the other person is usually one with problems maybe they are cheating, or lying, or have family issues, or understanding issues, etc. But that doesn't seem to be the case here.
