I guess I’ll put this back on hold again. the same dance between the leads is getting annoying. she hates him.…
Another opinion about this FL that I am totally agreeing with. I felt this since the first few episodes and wrote a bit about how strong her reaction toward the ML when he did something wrong. Many others responded in her defense. After having read a few of them, I just didn't care to read anymore. I just don't like this FL's character.
I think the FL does not love the ML at all! she cares about everyone else more!
I thought I was the only one thinking this. She treats him like everyone else with more grudges toward him. One wrong move he makes and she's against him all over again. I love the actress but I do not like this FL character. At this point I want Ye Sha to take over and just kills everyone including her.
The fact that the director give us 2ml and fl more screentime together make me furious 🙄🙄..
Li Fei's character has so many flaws as well. She treats everyone nice so the ml to her is like any of her other friends it seems. As many of you have mentioned in the comments, this story sucks big time. Maybe this is why the drama was cut to 33 episodes.
I don’t think you look at the situation objectively. let’s use me for example, I love SWL like you do too,…
I was not referring to that scene. It's the scene of the nighttime when they were all eating, drinking, and writing up their wishes. To be precise since you said I didn't follow properly, episode 9 at 5 minutes and 40 seconds into the episode. The scene you were referring to is where all the students have their uniforms, THAT I have no issue with.
the one ep better resolve their issues a bit cause idk why people are so quick to attack.
LOL I feel like we are all just attacking each other's opinion on the characters so it's okay. We create even better dramas on here than the actual dramas themselves.
He will suffer a bit for his harshness which is ok,its part of the plot and his reasons are valid. and whatever…
Gosh, how I would love it so much if he just ends up being the very single, handsome, powerful demon lord. I would vote for a new type of ending where the ending is not tragic or happy doesn't equate to ml and fl get together.

Not me, I don't hate him. I just think his character so far is quite dumb. But it's all a part of character's development as we will see how he will grow and change soon. On the other hand, some parts I find more annoying is toward the fl's character such as during the celebration dinner I believe, the fl came down the steps with a whole new change of clothes and hairdo while no one else changed. Then the ml, and sml both looked at her in awe. This actually gave me chills in a bad way...eeeek.. I truly wouldn't mind it so much if the other female characters had a change as well. Why only fl changed her looks? She didn't fall into a dirty pond or were given new clothes by no one. LOL SWL is one of my favorite actor, but so far I am not liking this story.
I really want lifei and xiuyan to reunite again so bad, please forgive our xiuyan 🤧😭
That girl can really hold strong grudges. Don't ever get her mad. She does it all. She pulls them together and tears them apart. The only weak part so far about her is her fighting/power thus far. It's ironic in a way because the guy that supposedly on the evil side has a tender heart and seems to be softer than a girl that's supposedly more kind and soft-hearted.
I am on episode 14. ML annoys me. I hope he fairs up well soon otherwise I will have to hope for FL to leave him.…
Gosh how I love all the oppose comments mine generated. As for those of you who sound upset that my initial thought of the ML's character wasn't good enough for the FL's character, well...we are at episode 29 now and I am seeing another test for this ML soon. I am seeing many commented that he's all talk and are waiting to see if he actually lives up to his words of how much he cares for her. I love the actor Ryan Cheng, he's one of my favorite but as for male lead character? His role in this drama I am not fond of. And again, his hair and makeup people need to be fired. His hair is too frizzy and his makeup is not good. He's much more handsome without it.
It was forcibly taken from her. It's FL's father who is to blame and her family in general. But if ML is going…
Not even that. She didn't do anything wrong but help him. She's the one that found the edict and turned it in. She didn't have to do it and cause trouble for herself. She did it because it's the right thing and that was what her mother wanted her to do. She has no fault in this whatsoever. If anything, he should thank her. Btw, I am very upset about the ML's makeup and his hair. Why does his hair has to be so frizzy? His hair/makeup people suck big time.
I am not a fan of the ml without any valid reasons. Perhaps he's not my type? LOL kidding aside! But the sml Deng Wei. Definitely am. I saw a few of his dramas and I loveeeeeeeeee him. Btw, the supporting actors are all hotties as well especially with Riley Wang's dimple, and Tian Jia Rui's smile. Deng Wei? That man's eyes and nose...oh my!!!!!
Well if you think more deeply in this situation it's the FL who's really disturbed her mental state is more concerning…
Okay, we all know the male lead isn't going to end up with a permanent disability. It's a very sensitive topic, but based on the direction of the story, it's pretty clear the writers are setting things up for the female lead to help him walk again. I think some people are blowing things out of proportion by bringing disability into this discussion when that doesn't seem to be what the story is about. My point is simply that, as the male lead, I'd like to see more from his character than just feeling sorry for himself and silently watching his wife. I want to see more growth, action, and depth from him. Having a disability doesn't make someone weak but instead stronger.
You keep saying that and I'm starting to think you mean he ain't worthy because he's disabled and I hope I'm wrong.
You're misunderstanding my point. I don't keep criticizing his disability, and in fact, my comments have nothing to do with it. Automatically framing any criticism of his character through the lens of disability is missing the point entirely. I'm evaluating him as the male lead of a story. A compelling male lead should have meaningful character development, make impactful decisions, show inner strength, or actively drive the plot forward. So far, I haven't seen much of that from him beyond being the female lead's husband and trying to understand her. My criticism is about the writing, not his physical condition. A character can have a disability and still be charismatic, proactive, resilient, and fascinating to watch. Those qualities are what make a great protagonist. Right now, I simply haven't seen enough of them from this character. There's a difference between criticizing a character's development and criticizing a disability. Conflating the two shuts down legitimate discussion about the quality of the storytelling.

I also want to clarify something because I know this discussion will likely bring up disability as some of you have. My comment has absolutely nothing to do with the male lead's inability to walk. In fact, it's pretty obvious that he'll eventually walk again. My criticism is about his character development. As the male lead, I expect to see more than him feeling sorry for himself or simply trying to understand his wife. I want to see qualities that make him a compelling protagonist, strength, growth, initiative, or resilience. The female lead, despite all the trauma, loss, and emotional struggles she's endured, continues to face him with a smile. She cares for him, supports his family, and is doing everything she can to help him walk again. We also understand that her mother couldn't save his brother, and her father's side of the family may have been involved in his brother's death, so perhaps she feels a sense of responsibility. Whatever the reason, she has consistently shown courage and selflessness. So when I say he isn't worthy of her right now, I'm comparing the effort and emotional strength we've seen from both characters. Maybe the story will soon shift its focus and give him the development I'm hoping for.
