I don't think anyone is bashing the actors themselves. It's obviously their agents fault. The fact that this is…
At this point, almost every discussion is about the age-gap debate instead of the actual drama. Meanwhile, the plot has been amazing so far, and it's frustrating that genuine viewers who want to discuss the story keep getting drowned out by the same arguments.
If people want to criticize the casting decision, that's their choice. But constantly repeating it under every post isn't helping anyone. If the goal is to reach the makers or Ai Mi, these comment sections on international platforms are unlikely to be where they'll see it.
Can we please talk about the plot, the twists, and the characters for once? That's why many of us are here, and I'm genuinely fed up with every discussion turning into the same debate.
Where was this hate when Rosy did Dating in the kitchen? Oh that’s right no where to be seen. people kill me…
Here, Hou Minghao doesn't even look significantly older, and he's a relatively young actor himself. So far, it's not like the drama is filled with constant kissing or intimate scenes most of their interactions are completely normal.
If people want to criticize the casting decision, that's fair. But at least judge the drama based on what it actually shows, not assumptions about scenes that haven't even happened. 🤦
I'm honestly getting tired of the selective outrage. If people want to criticize the casting decision, that's their choice, but repeating the same arguments under every single post isn't changing anything.
The reality is that most Chinese productions aren't making decisions based on discussions happening on MDL, Twitter, or YouTube. Most Chinese viewers aren't even using those platforms. If anyone wants to send a message to the production, these comment sections probably aren't where it'll be heard.
I'd much rather see people discussing the plot, characters, and performances than having the exact same debate under every post.
Damn, it's only Episode 4 and the plot is already full of twists and turns! 🙆👏👏 I'm genuinely impressed. I didn't expect to get hooked this quickly.
Thank you for not disappointing me! I'm really excited to see where the story goes next. I'll definitely continue until Episode 6 and catch up with the latest episodes too.
Honestly, all I wanted was to see people discussing the plot, characters, and trailers. Instead, the comments are full of lectures about the casting.
If we're talking about age gaps, where were these discussions when Zhao Lusi was paired with William Chan? That was also a significant age difference, yet plenty of people praised and shipped that pairing. If Ai Mi were 18 instead of 17, would suddenly no one have a problem with her being cast opposite a man in his late 30s? The outrage feels inconsistent hypocrites 🤡.
If anyone deserves criticism, it's the makers for their casting decision not the actors. And since Ai Mi is a minor, do people really think a production of this scale would've proceeded without her parents' consent?
I don't want to miss what could be a good drama because of a decision made by the production team. The male lead is already an established actor, but the one most likely to be affected by a boycott is the young actress whose career is only just beginning. She won't be a minor forever, and a poor reception could impact her future opportunities.
From everything we've seen so far, there don't appear to be any intimate scenes, and I'm perfectly fine with that. I'd rather judge the drama based on its story and performances than dismiss it before giving it a chance.
You should try getting an iQiyi subscription, there are a lot of good cdramas, including ones with ZLH.
Yeah, I already got an iQIYI subscription for Fated Hearts and How Dare You. That’s when I also watched The Best Thing. But it’s quite pricey compared to Netflix, I’ll try to watch My Journey to You next month.
Honestly, I renewed my Netflix subscription just for this drama, and it’s worth every penny. I’ve loved it so far, and the new episodes air in an hour. Super excited! I’ve always known about Zhang Linghe’s popularity but never really got the chance to watch his dramas except The Best Thing. This is only my second drama of his, and Tian Xiwei absolutely nailed her role. Both of them are amazing. Also, whoever designed Zhang Linghe’s costumes deserves a raise.
