I don't know about the staff dying portion but I did read that it was most watched during it airing time on both…
OMG! Hi, I'm still watching it. So I can't say I actually recommend this one but if you want to laugh a lot and love acting that is on point then, yes. I can't stop laughing watching this
I agree with you. This bothered me too.But the mother in the car with the little girl was his fathers second wife.…
I'm on 4 episode the the woman is different actress with a little girl it's far more clear to me that he remarried and had a kid. The mother is a different actress. Not only that the father recognised him instantly and the mother didn't so it's more clear that's that the second wife. I haven't had idea the real mom died. Which I learnt through these comments
i'm surprised that this got so high rating here... in korea it tanked and was barely memorable. so-so average…
I don't know about the staff dying portion but I did read that it was most watched during it airing time on both cable and broadcasting channel in it's time slot not only that it broke the record of highest rating for it's pilot episode
I wonder if you watch Go Ahead what'd you think of LingXiao since their relationship dynamics are so different…
Oh god, I couldn't agree more! Especially with Sanha's mom being worse than Ling Xiao, and still Sanha is shown a well-adjusted guy. Also, it does feel like a typical teen romance drama as the story is proceeding. Plus, the fact that the alpha male concept of Sanha pushed Juwon and Haejun as a second character. Not only that, the reason for them choosing to go with their respective family became somewhat of their choice. In Haejun's case, I can still give him a pass as he saw how his dad is working hard to put him through better school, and his biological dad began to threaten, but with Sanha, his uncle said he couldn't, and he just decided to step up to the responsibility. With Ling Xiao, the entire family forced him to stay, which actually added much depth to his existing trauma. In this context, the story does lack a better understanding of the depth each character has in Go Ahead, and this time, you can't blame the number of episodes. Not only does Juwon as a character and her backstory feel like complete ignore, but then they still have 6 more episodes, so let's see how it goes. I am a bit worried as it is like the writer is trying to make Sanha the only lead in this whole scenario.
As far as the kdrama is going it seems like the three siblings are the main characters while two dads are second and people like Park Dal and the reoccurring characters from school as side and guest roles. I can understand why Ju Won can feel like a second character as her growth is very minimal here compared to stories going on with Sanha and HaeJun
Now to talk about OG which is a Chinese drama and an important element that cdrama has is having multiple main leads (even when they are doing a proper romance genre) so that’s why OG has 5 main characters which include the three siblings and two dads with second characters including Mingyue (park Dal) her mother, as well as, Tang Can and her mother (another school friend; which is missing here) with side and guest characters. And a story, as well as, a proper arc was given to all main and second characters with enough screen time
I wonder if you watch Go Ahead what'd you think of LingXiao since their relationship dynamics are so different…
If you want to point out the confession part of Ling Xiao that is equally uncalled for as Sanha’s was. But apart from that Ling Xiao’s character never belittled anyone especially the siblings which included Ziqiu. He was very much upright but a pushover character. He couldn’t stand up against his mom or the mom's side of the family who forced him to take care of the mom under the name of filial responsibility. Even when he was back he still couldn’t stand against the mother for a long time. Not only that his character is shown to have much more maturity (which was present in Sanha) without the attitude of I can handle everything, only I can calm her down complex. Also, he never blurted out Ziqiu's secret while hiding his and then blaming him. His words were not hurtful toward Ziqiu. And at last, even if his confession and the kiss were unhinged, he didn’t confess right after coming back or just cause she was dating someone. Also don't see me as someone who loves Ling Xiao, he was my least favorite of all the main 5 characters but just pointing out how writers are making annoying decisions with Sanha’s character.
I know a lot of us haven't watched the OG and the few of us who watched still seems to get the love triangle part so wrong. In my view I think the love triangle is inevitable and will happen here as well.
But the some of us who understand that portion in OG know how important of that scene was. It showed how Ziqiu(Haejun) still struggles to find the sense of belonging. He still is the one who feel lonely. To him Ling Xiao(SanHa) had his dad, JianJian(Ju won) has her dad, they both had a family member who wants them; but both his parents left him. They didn't wanted him in their life. His proposal was out of blue cause it didn't arise from a place of romantic feeling it arises from the place of desperation. His love for Ju won's dad and ju won was so strong and desperation to be registered legally in the family register made him okay to get married out of responsibility. This portion made even more sense when you see his overall persona he was never involved in romantic relationship as he thought no one is going to stay. He will be abandoned sooner or later. So to think about how his psychic worked towards that proposal made it an important event. Not only that but Juwon also understood where he was coming from and talked to him why she can't accept this and how no matter what he will always be family. His character has more depth in OG and they are kind butchering his character arc as the story is proceeding and making him into a second character.
An opinion from someone who’s watched up to episode 10 and seen at least half of "Go Ahead":I've come across…
I know that his romantic side was out of blue specially when Jianjian had absolutely no feelings but I guess his way of talking about her since high school shows he was seeing her more than a sibling. Asking her to not enter his room, saying he will marry her even if she is dumb and all those hints were present throughout their school era but very minimum and that fact that jianjian didn't had feels for him even in her adult life until sh*t happened does made it hard to watch
I knew Korean version will make Sanha just a typical doctor instead of a dentist. Haejun's story on the otherhand,…
Also I see how as the series is progressing it is going as kdrama goes only following more of one couple (Male and female lead) and other has just taken the role of second leads or side characters.
i think his an idiot enough to liking Ju won ... but they never will be dating
No he is not in that case but he is when it comes to Dal. It was because of the family register and his strong intentions to join the family legally. His love for the dad and ju won was so strong that he was okay to a marriage that is without romantic feeling
what’s this clip floating of hae Jun asking ju won for marriage
It's was a important scene in original series. To get the gist behind that is as soon as sanha(ling Xiao) confessed hae jun(Ziqiu) proposes marriage to Juwon(jianjian), unaware that Sanha has confessed something in that manner. Now it actually made sense for hae jun's confession in original cause there was a lot of build up and in OG it also shows that Ju won actually understood the reason behind his confessions and declined him. He was also aware of the reason still proposed for marriage. Which you got right. It was because he wants to be family legally. His love towards Ju won dad and ju won was so strong that he wanted to be included in the family and change his surname that he was okay to a marriage that doesn't had any romantic feel to it. Now after this Sanha did got a bit angry but as his character arc was in og he was very understanding of where he was coming from and all three talked out his proposal situation in a way that didn't hurt him or belittled him. So I'm very much interested how it's going to play here. Cause in recent episode writers made Sanha character very much annoying and a typical passive aggressive kdrama ML.
