I noticed that those whose comments make sense and understood this drama ended up liking it. I also enjoyed reading your comments. It's such a grave miscarriage of justice that this drama has been thrashed by those who didn't bother understanding it.
There are many pretty women who are not actresses and I know women who attract men like bees to a flower
You took the words out of my mouth :) I agree with everything you said, especially the phrase "eager to find fault". I think this is the real reason this drama has been lambasted. Anybody who is eager to find fault will find something to complain about any drama, even the most respected ones. Nirvana in Fire, one of the most respected cdramas had been criticized for, among others, being "mind numbingly slow" and having bad lighting (uh uh, this sounds familiar)

I'm planning to withdraw from social media altogether myself. I haven't logged on to Facebook for several months now. Next target, Twitter or X :) I have never been a fan of YT. Too many fake news there. Well, everywhere, actually, but I'm appalled at so many videos that are outright lies I just go there to listen to songs
He had an ex-girlfriend though I'm not sure how long they stayed together, but most probably more than a year…
He started dating before he was 23. His life before 23 was not shown, so it’s not known whether he had a girlfriend in kindy, or elementary or high school or college. But it’s understandable that he didn’t have one from age 23 to 27 as he was busy with his company. I also like to think that after meeting Shu Yi when he was 23, he subconsciously lost interest in other girls. 😊

The internet reminds me of a sermon I heard about how man is predisposed towards evil. Nobody teaches a baby to grab other babies’ toys, or little boys and girls to lie and fight. They learn it themselves. Give people a chance to say whatever they want to say under the cloak of anonimity and they will cyber-bully and slander away

Thank you! I've been admiring your comments on the drama so your approval is much appreciated. Your review in the Reviews section, especially, would be of much help to those who don't get the campy humor. If only more people can read it. We share the same frustration with the negativity this drama has received. Even here at MDL, just the rating alone would already cast a negative light on the drama, coloring people's reception of it, making them likely to criticize it, jump on the bandwagon. That's one thing I deplore about the internet, how it emboldens netizens to be mean. Gone are the days when the saying, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything" was heeded.

Thank you! That means a lot because you are one of the reviewers here who make sense and have a good understanding of the drama (I've been reading the comments). The business talks are vital to understanding Shi Yan. So, viewers who skip the business talks lose the right to criticize Shi Yan and the drama, for that matter. His embrace of Mr. Li's suggestion for the collaboration shows how humble, sensible and sharp-minded he is, humble to take the advice and swallow his pride in the next steps, sensible to consider collaborating with his love and business rival and sharp-minded to know how to go about the collaboration. It's a brilliant idea and has relevance in all types of businesses. It just needs mature and capable players like Shi Yan to work.
So, that's why you have a good understanding of the business aspect, since you are exposed to a familiar arrangement at work. One thing I like about cdramas is they try to be informative. Some viewers may take this as propaganda but I like knowing new things, especially how other cultures are using new or advanced technologies and techniques.
So was wondering, Shi Yan was 27 when he met Shu Yi. He was single for 4 years right... so that means he started…
He had an ex-girlfriend though I'm not sure how long they stayed together, but most probably more than a year since she was expecting marriage towards the end of their relationship. He most probably started dating before he was 23.
A drama rarely, if ever, caters to everyone's taste. So if it happens that a drama is not your type, drop it and move on. I don't understand why viewers who don't like a drama see a need to whine about it, especially if they didn't watch the drama in full. Isn't a review supposed to help others understand the drama better? Reviews of those who didn't watch the drama fully, that is, those who skipped scenes or didn't complete it, are simply misleading. Especially those with unreasonable expectations. This drama is mainly about a 25-year-old reporter for a finance magazine and a 27-year-old CEO of a venture capital company. Expecting a drama with these descriptions of leads to be all about sweet-nothings and not have business talks is unreasonable. If you don't want a substantial drama with business talks, give this a pass and spare other viewers misleading reviews.
As for me, I enjoyed the business talks. They provided a substantial backdrop for the development of the romance, not to mention providing a rags-to-riches account of a struggling start-up. Most important, they helped in understanding the characters better. Aside from his intelligence and business acumen, they show how tenacious and loyal Shi Yan is. Against all odds, he holds on to his vision and does not leave a struggling start-up in the lurch. What does it say about him as a lover? A lot. It means he is the "Till death do us part" type. Shu Yi should be so lucky. But he's lucky too and he knows it. She also sticks to her vision, pulling herself out of a project just so her vision can go on. They belong together and deserve happiness together.
Well for this role Esther said that she was on a diet to look very slim so probably all the cast were made to…
i'm afraid c-ent is doing to its actors and actresses what the fashion industry has been doing to its models - making them look like skeletons. This needs to be stopped.
what is it with c-ent actors/actresses being super slim? Are they working too hard? Is the stress too much? Zhang Ling He was so cute in Love Between Fairy and Devil where he looked healthy. Here, no amount of lipstick can hide the fact that he just looks emaciated. And one thing I hate most in dramas are weepy female leads. Here, the male lead took in that role. Good acting doesn't mean being overly emotional to hide the blandness underneath, Good acting is showing the appropriate emotion at any time.
i'm hoping the actor will prove himself to be more than a pretty face
spoken like a true fan. though fans should encourage actors to grow, not bask in his blandness. he is still young. he can still add depth to his acting as he matures, with the proper nudge
