I have to disagree with your take on the ML character. As most young men and women in these cdramas, they don't have a clue about expressing their admiration for the opposite sex. I never saw him do anything creepy or scary. He took her flowers when she graduated and when he saw that there was another guy there, he turned around and left. So what that he didn't have another relationship in those 11 years, if you watch many of these they don't jump from relationship to relationship. He never bothered her, he never saw her in those 11 years, he let her live her life with out even knowing he was interested, that is far from stalking, a stalker will let you know that he or she isn't happy about your other relationship, you will get notes or phone calls, etc. He let her get on with her life without the slightest hint that he liked her. When he found out that she was no longer with the other guy, he came back and then stepped in to try to have a relationship with her. To me it never looked ominous or scary. And coercing her family? What was that. When they decided to get married all he did was bring all his important papers to her parents to let them know that he was responsible and would take good care of her, how is that coersion? When her mother signed her up for the blind date, unless I missed a real big part of this, the mother didn't know about him, she didn't set this up, he found out and decided that was when he could meet her again.

why do they give the FL the worst friends? They are either really stupid, really immature or just plain selfish. Niannian comes into their home and expects to sleep with the FL, interrupts every time they start to get romantic and acts like she doesn't see a thing.....go home you idiot, just because she didn't get her way with the SML and they are usually so entitled that they don't see their shortcomings at all, makes me want to scream at the FL to cut her losses.

being from the West, I will never understand this forgive & forget when it comes to family, so it's okay to kill off the major portion of the family but gee, that's okay because you're family too? It really seems that in the majority of the cdramas the bad guy never gets punished, they just forgive, seems odd to me.

LOL - thank you. Every time she comes on I just have to ff through her scenes, she's a flippin idiot and sorry, but I don't even think she has that one brain cell.

I'm re-watching it and I didn't remember when she stopped being the "scared little rabbit", I'm glad I only have to endure this for a few more epi, thank you for the answer.

watched this for the first time probably right after it came on and I was new to cdramas and I just assumed that he played the heavy all the time because I thought, wow, this guy is scary mean and obviously good at this type of character.

someone mentioned this in another site and the answer was that the East doesn't put as much importance to placement of the ring as we do in the West. I don't know if there is more to it or not, but that was the answer to that question.

This was probably the 4th cdrama I ever watched, so I really didn't know any of the actors, I just know that he could be dark so well. Dark and mysterious is exactly the way it felt to me. It took me a while to really get into it and more than once I thought about dropping it, I'm so glad I didn't. I started watching it again today and I'm glad it's been about a year because so much of it "new" to me now.

I watched this the first time about a year ago, when I first started watching cdramas and I was determined that I would find a show and stick with it to the end, no matter what. You don't know how many times I thought, just shut it off, find something else, but I stuck to it and was so glad I did.

agree 100%...mostly I just wanted to drown her in a fountain.

watched this about a year ago and decided to watch again. The "scaredy cat" thing drives me nuts. She agreed to go in as the other woman so why not grow a backbone? The writers of these dramas miss the mark on so many things.

it seems to be a running thing with these dramas, the friends are always idiots or so obnoxious I end up ff through their scenes. They constantly give "advice" about things - like love - that they know nothing about. This friend I wanted to drown her in one of the fountains just to be rid of her.

nope, I'm not the "giving up" kind of person. Once it's all loaded, then I'll go back and binge it.

I almost didn't watch too, but did and now I'm trying to decide if I should stop right here at epi 6 and wait for the rest to be loaded. But, it keeps drawing me back.

I got angry with her when his mother was dying and he was trying to make enough money to pay for her meds. I thought she should have understood, but what she saw was that he wasn't spending time with his mother. It was just sad.

I'm at epi 21 and I agree with everything you wrote. I especially love the family dynamics, it's wonderful to see that there are Asian parents who support and love their kids and aren't trying to run their lives. These 3 parents are the best. Only one scene made me mad at the FL, but the rest of the time she was great, I didn't understand the complaints from others about her.

I think I have a list of over 1000 that have looked interesting to me. Already I've found some favorites that I've watched multiple times when nothing else sparks my fancy. I think I've only been watching for about 8 months, so that is relatively new compared to some of you that have watched for some time.
