I guess I would be able to understand the weight of that if they gave us an insight into her being miserable in her own life (pre social media cancellation) but we don’t see that, so all her extreme hate feels like it’s coming from left field. Plus Rak said she’s been like this since before he was a writer. It’s just the latest thing they’re competing on. I want to know what triggered it all.

I’m yet to understand WHY Rak’s mum paying for a male companion is causing this jealousy and competing and hatred. Why is this manifesting in such an extreme way like the cousin has been wronged or something? Is Rak’s dad her dad too? Her motivation for hating him is paper thin. It almost makes no sense so we must be missing something. Hopefully they’ll reveal it later.

I echoed your sentiments about the cousin in my own comment above. All I know is that she hates Rak but I don’t know what started it.

My brain is also predicting the next couple of episodes. It can go any way really. This episode felt like it was going down different routes at points but I ended up being surprised by the direction. For example, I thought they were going to have Rak secretly hook up with someone just to prove to himself that he wasn’t falling for Mut only to realise he’s already fallen for him. And that was going to be the conflict. I didn’t expect Rak to tell Mut he was planning to hook up with somebody and that the situation would be ‘diffused’ so easily. It’s making me wonder if the “let’s break up” will be resolved quickly too.

I’d forgotten too until they mentioned it in that scene on the swings. I wonder if they mentioned it on purpose for foreshadowing. 🤔

I think the part I’m missing is why? Or at least a visual insight into the dynamic/catalyst so I can ascertain where all the bad blood is coming from like they did with the father. That one scene of him being violent, demanding money and not caring at all about any of their well-being’s spoke volumes. It’s like they say, “show it, don’t say it.”

Maybe they’ll move back for happy reasons and all this will be resolved before that. It can honestly go either way with this drama.

Yup, to all of this. I was quite shocked when I saw Meena sitting there considering how visibly terrified she was of the grandfather. That decision reminded me just how young/still a kid Mut’s character is.

But it seemed to have started before that. Rak said the writing thing is one of a long list of things she’s copied from him. I don’t understand why she wants to best him. Her hatred seems a bit extreme if it’s just to compete with him. Why is she competing with him? What’s the stakes? Why is she so jealous? I could understand it more if her parents constantly compared her to Rak and put her down and it’s built up years of resentment. Or they were fighting over something significant like an inheritance or a company. I’m not saying she can’t dislike him for no reason but to that extreme?

Yeah, I’d seen the comments about Mook being annoying these past 8 weeks and although I don’t personally feel that way, I appreciate that some viewers do. I thought I’d share my two cents since you asked. 😅

I have a feeling Rak will take a big knock to his career and he will permanently move to the island with Mut to rebuild his career without fear and as part of a happy, carefree new life with Mut.

Something is gonna happen which will be the catalyst for them permanently moving to the island. This studio didn’t pay to film on an island and rent a beach house just to use it in a few episodes. 😜

This episode has piqued my curiosity as well. I was initially wondering why Mut gave him the time of day to hear him out but I remembered Mut told Rak at the book fair he usually finds out what people like that want so he can pass information back to Rak. Unfortunately, he discovered too late that the dad is just like the cousin and it’s better not to give them an inch.

This is my third favourite ongoing series so far. I can watch a series where it’s just about the characters’ relationship developing if they have serious chemistry and not just sexual chemistry/sexual tension but believability that they really feel for each other. This series is that for me. The events of today’s episode does not put me off.

One thing I’m not sure I’m understanding though is WHY the cousin hates him so much. What is her motivation? Where is that coming from? I understood the father’s motivation immediately. He’ll do anything for money and has already demonstrated that in the past to the extreme. He’s violent if he doesn’t get his way. Pretty much everything we’ve seen of him so far is in line with how his character was built up to the audience.

I wouldn’t say I’m watching for them but I’m not not watching for them. They’re quite a welcome discovery for me. I think they pair exceptionally well and I don’t find Mook annoying. I thought I would but I don’t. Maybe it’s because her acting is decent. If her acting was bad/a bit green, then her character probably would grate on me. I was thinking that I wouldn’t mind a GL series with them as the leads but then again, maybe I like them because they’re given to us in small doses.

Thankfully none of his kids or grandkid consider him family. Unfortunately, they know all too well what he’s capable of.

A fantasy k-drama with Park Eun Bin. That’s unexpected but I’m intrigued.

lol I try to stay away from the arguing myself but one of the reasons I chose MDL over other 'drama trackers' was because I really liked the articles/editorials that were drama focused. As I'm using the site to log series I've already seen and make lists of new ones I want to watch; I really appreciate being introduced to series that are new to me in a compelling and insightful way. Most of the series I add to my watch list are discoveries from editorials and some articles. It's why I think these should stay drama focused, as they can be really really useful in getting a feel for a series. Articles on a drama site about dramas and movies should not be gossip focused imo.
