tbh I don’t like it either but knew it was coming as that part of the story had been unresolved. Zhang Teng’s gang were always going to get their revenge. It was only a matter of time.

I wonder if we’re going to be getting something HiStory related soon as most of the cameos have come from them. Even better, I wonder if all the couples cameod will be bringing a new series soon. 🤗

You make a good point. I did see the ending as a plastered ‘happily ever after’ so I might try watching again now that I have some distance from my first viewing. I personally don’t like cheating either but I’m aware this is my bias so I try extra hard to give grace where it’s due. I’m all for redemption as long as the redemption is earned.

I wanted to ask, have you seen Your Name Engraved Herein? If you’ve not seen it already I think it might be one you may like. I find it beautifully tragic.

Wow. The points you made are exactly the same ones I have but I come to a different conclusion about IPYTM. Unearned redemption unfortunately always ruins a series for me. Tae for sure needed therapy and Oh-aew should not have gotten back together with him until he sorted his stuff out. I try always to be a reasonable/objective viewer but it’s instances like this, where I personally feel the writers shortchange the viewers or succumb to the masses, that my subjective biases come through.

Because I am an international viewer unfortunately I have to use not so legit sites like kisskh and dramacool but if you wanted to support legit sites you can also watch on Viki, GagaOolala and iQIYI. 🙂

I don’t think he’s a bad actor. He’s better than most Thai bl actors but he just doesn’t carry the emotional brevity needed for his scenes in order for to premise to work.

It’s definitely a loop and how they meet plays out exactly how it plays out in the first episode. Older Suansoon going back in time to meet Ongsa is exactly the reason why the two young ones meet. It’s the chicken AND the egg. Both ending and beginning the loop.

Everything suggests this is a loop.

Although I skipped through most of this episode I did watch some scenes in its entirety and did get emotional. The actor playing young Ongsa is really good in his role. I have high hopes that this series will find its legs soon.

It’s definitely one of the better produced ones. The story is a good one and the acting for the most part is really good.

I completely understand where you are coming from. I imagine I’d feel the same way. I find the premise of the show intriguing which is why I won’t drop it even though these episodes are frustrating me.

You know when you go into an audition and you make an acting choice and it can change the intention of a scene?…..This is what the emotional resonance of their relationship feels like to me. I can tell what it’s meant to come across as in the script but the way it’s being played out onscreen gives a different tone, meaning and understanding from the viewer’s pov. And I think the older Soon’s inability to do strong emotive acting is a huge part of that.

It does lead to what everyone wants. Episode 11 is very satisfying.

You’ve hit the nail on the head. So much is lost in the English translations and it actually creates a somewhat different story than the story intended.

This person does a good job of providing more accurate translations for important scenes and does a good job of breaking down what the scenes are actually about.
