I am really finding this series intriguing. I just cant turn it loose. Maybe it is because I lost my soulmate…
I completely understand where you are coming from. I imagine I’d feel the same way. I find the premise of the show intriguing which is why I won’t drop it even though these episodes are frustrating me.
I think I've find the real problem in my eyes.. I don't feel the emotion from the actor especially the one playing…
You know when you go into an audition and you make an acting choice and it can change the intention of a scene?…..This is what the emotional resonance of their relationship feels like to me. I can tell what it’s meant to come across as in the script but the way it’s being played out onscreen gives a different tone, meaning and understanding from the viewer’s pov. And I think the older Soon’s inability to do strong emotive acting is a huge part of that.
*I hope that makes sense. I don’t really know how to articulate it.
There is some confusion in the translation on other Apps or website and the most accurate to watched it on is…
You’ve hit the nail on the head. So much is lost in the English translations and it actually creates a somewhat different story than the story intended.
This person does a good job of providing more accurate translations for important scenes and does a good job of breaking down what the scenes are actually about.
I’ve been reading a lot of the comments and I think they all have valid points. I also think that people have certain preferences or dislikes of certain tropes and that’s ok, in which case this series was probably never gonna win you over. And that’s also okay.
For those of you who liked the premise, but felt like not much happened or that it was unresolved or there was not much dialogue; I highly suggest you read this breakdown of each episode.
The person who created the posts does a good job of showing how language is used in this series. Both the use of minimal language and the things that are unsaid but understood in the context of Japanese relationships. It made me realise that there was a lot of unspoken dialogue and meaning in the stuff that wasn’t being said. I understood the silences, pauses, actions and lack of action a lot better. Also they provide some much needed clarification on some of the English subtitles. Trust me their clarifications add a new level of understanding for almost every scene. I feel like I had been watching this series with only half the story but now with their breakdowns, I feel like I’m getting the full story with both the spoken and unspoken dialogue.
The list and the comments are so funny. It’s like a real life social experiment. People on both sides are revealing so much about themselves. 😂 I’ve got my popcorn ready.
This is always such an issue in Thai BL, and then you have Taiwan BL where they don't care at all. Funny how everyone…
I definitely noticed that. He seems to be uncomfortable with intimate scenes. His performance was stronger at the start of the series and I’m now noticing that his acting has become strained now there are more and more intimate scenes these last few episodes. I’m sure given time he’ll be able to overcome this discomfort.
In the novel fan was pretending, bai wa truly suffering from short time memory lose
I wonder if they will follow this thought, or if they’ll do a sort of half and half since ZY said ZR would never have allowed him to go to prison for him if he hadn’t lost his memory.
Well…if no one else is going to say it I will. Louis Chiang had a moment with this ep.Damn. I’ve never seen…
In the BTS they kept teasing him about an award he won so I think people are taking notice. Once he becomes polished in his craft, there might be no stopping him. 🙂
Yeah, my bad. I’m commenting on two different shows so got it mixed up which one I was responding to. Please ignore my comment. It doesn’t apply in this case.
is it just me but one of the leads is my age and it's just so odd to me :0
I think I know which one you are talking about and I had this same thought in the second episode and went to check the actor’s real age and was shocked he wasn’t as old as initially thought. I think it’s because he has a mature face with very strong bone structure. Anyways, I’ve decided to ignore it and enjoy the drama. ☺️
good subs? lol, I saw a lot of mistranslations. No wonder this drama gets low rating.
Ngl I’m thankful for any subs to any series so I’m not wishing them to stop but I do often wonder why these large sites don’t invest in admin staff who speak the big four languages from Asian dramas. If the whole motivation is to have more visitors to your site, then make it worthwhile.
I was so confused too because that scene ended with Chen Yi on top. It might just be the translation again and what he’s referring to (guilty about) is taking advantage of Chen Yi due to him being drunk.
