what a messy story with unnecessary drama...

Hmmm... on the one hand for some this was entertainment pure, for others, that series does not make much sense and is frustrating. I lean to the group who thinks, the whole series was unnecessary when Iljo had talked in the first episode. Then maybe the could have expanded on how to bring Iljo's brother down. Iljo wallowing in the victim role was a bit much at times. Of course SeoJeong is not free of fault either. While under pressure from his father he does not know how to express his feelings at all. I think he did not receive any love from his family at all, but I would have prefered also to see some backflashes in his childhood.

Overall this is a mixed bag. You may like it or you may hate it or like me, it's more positive then negative but the story is messy. Production quality was good, but it was not a high polished one. It has raw edges, but what works is the chemistry between the leads. Both did a very good job and together they did even better. So, if you like it toxic, this is a show for you!

sexualising toxic relationship, forcing the partner in an uncomfortable way all the time

This is a very hard series for me. The first scene started already bad, forcing a sexual contact. Red flag characters are not my cup of tea especially if they do not grow or turn 180°. The counterpart is too naive and too cliché and just let it happen, because he is especially horny. This is one the most sexualized BLs in history but without a story to speak of. While the NC scenes are based on reality, the toxic behaviour is not. I'm sure there are some relationsships like that, but I don't feel they are healthy.

The side chars are extras, some as toxic as the lead red flag (yes, that girl) and some just stupid and some just "stiff". Why they had a cliché bitchy woman which turns lesbian is beyond me. Only the acting of the main couple is convincing. Both play their characters to perfection with nuanced facial expressions especially on Oats part. The rest is forgettable. There is no real story that needs to be told, but the production quality was superb.

The finale feels shallow and non-essential after the injection of needless drama in ep 11. Both Oat and Boat did a good job considering what the script has given, but overall it was just a bad series. Their acting increased my rating, otherwise that would be a disaster. The NC scenes are imho too much, if I want to see something like this I can watch any p0rn available and have not to ask myself WTF was that for or why does Jun allow this? Again, a disappointing thai show, but as I can see in the reviews some fangirls did this.

This becomes a BL when you watch the special episodes...

First of all, this kind of humor is not everyones cup of tea. And there is no international distribution which is quite sad. GagaOOLala takes every crap show, but did not take this one.

Of course when you see the "normal" episodes you may question if this is a BL, but I would argue for it, because Toru's feelings go beyond admiration imho. When you have a chance to see the two special episodes it makes everything clear and without them the series is not complete. So my rating reflects all twelve episodes (it*s two half episodes, so if you see a special with around 26 minutes you're fine).

If you have a chance to see it with proper subtitles (not the AI slob), the show makes sense, the character development makes sense and I felt Kishi Knight had an interest in Toru from the get go. Near the end we also get why he got an interest in him with a flashback before he became Torus tutor. And thanks to a friend who provided me the proper subs and the special episodes I could get a proper experience 💖

I can't explain it, but I like this over-the-top humor more than the comedy of most thai shows. They also did a good job to give the characters quiet moments with serious talk without any comedy at all. So this show grew on me, it was fun and while not perfect, it was very entertaining.

Too short and a bit creepy....

Sukfilm is obviously the master of cliché plots. It's not like all clichés are bad, but when the story centers around it, it makes things a bit akward. "if you make me upset I need to punish you" - WTF? - and then forcing a kiss. That's a red flag for me - kissing without consent is really not ok, even when the other person does like it. But with only three episodes roughly six minutes each, there is not a lot of time to tell a comprehenisve story.

I can't fault the actors who did a really good job and look appealing. But as usual it's the same fake locations which do not feel very convincing. So, it's a cliché centered story with not much depth because there was no time to tell it in a good way. Bonus points are awarded for the visuals which were really on point. But besides that it's more or less medicore.

Two BLs in one...

While many 12 episodes BLs are a chore, this series gives you two stories in one. We already had fictional BLs in a BL, but not done in such a way, that both stories influence each other on such a level.

As it's cliché both start out as men with a girlfriend, but watching it you feel there is something off. Ollies character is aggressive towards Shu Yuans character from the get go, he exploits Shu Yuans character when drunk which will have it's consequences. But what was just desire turns into something else.

The lines between the "actor" characters and the fictional movie characters blur. Of course there's a lot of drama, because of the girlfriends and the fact that in China being gay is quite unpopular in the entertainment industry. There are a LOT of nc-scenes too, they drive the story forward. This role was the first for both and both are very young, their chemistry is impacable. The whole team put the nc-scenes in a tasteful way, they never felt akward or cringe. Of course this is an emotional rollercoaster, it's not for the fainted hearted either.

While the production quality was superb, the dubbing was not. What may be felt as "wooden" is the dubs fault, they are not lip-synced perfectly at times, the raw emotions could not be transported as well. That's my biggest critisim of this series. Otherwise a chinese production is showing Thailand how it's done. The stories are interesting, the script is not silly and nc-scenes are not considered just "fanservice". Overall a recommendation from me!

When idols don't act out their roles...

A typical idol BL where kissing is forbidden, because the actors can't commit to their roles. Again: If you do BLs do it the whole way and not half assed. The story is also quite mid, not bad, not good but the chemistry & acting was better than I expected,

There is not much else to say. It's an ok production, it did not have a lot of budget and it serves for the most part as boost for the idols, because BL is an easy way. But compared to real actors it's quite shocking that in 2026 they still zoom on the lips, but there is no kissing at all. I would have been more content with it, when they did not zoom on lips or hid it completely as other show already did. They did not even manage a peck on the lips. Very disappointing.

At least we don't have cringe comedy but the script was nothing to write home about. If you have time you may watch it, it's not the worst, but if your time is limited, you can skip it and not miss anything.

Good story, good acting, but no conclusion and not a BL!

That is not a BL, it was just a queer story, with bullying and hardships for many youngsters. The focus of the story is not the love (interests), it's just to form a volleyball team. And that's why there is an open end and no conclusion. We don't know who ended up with whom or even if the friendship between J and Uno got where it once was. This is the bitter taste after you watch this show.

The story was good, the acting was good, the production was good, so this is really worth a watch. But any fangirls will be disappointed because there is only a semi happy end. And it's not a happy end in a romantic sense. So I hope, you can enjoy also a queer story which is in contrast to almost all BLs out there.

The biggest disappointment in BL history...

While this show was not only overhyped and we all expected greatness, the script of this show was worse than I could ever have imagined. As usual this series started strong in the first two episodes to declined at a steady pace *till episode 12, where the jumped of the cliff and landed on the belly.

Everyone reading the novel can agree, that the novel did not need to be spiced up with the SM part for example. If the book is already good, you should not change it into something it never was. The pacing is all over the place and the side couples are mostly just extras where there stories are wasted and not explored in depth. But we see scene after scene of the ML which did nothing for the story.

Episode 12 culminates in the trash script this was, with one cliché after the next. Nobody can fault the actors who all did a very good job with what there were given. And of course costumes, most of the staging and cinematography was impeccable, The music with an real orchestra was great - if they had used it everywhere and not used some music from a library which again was completely unnecessary. The few minutes in every episode could have been handled by the composer as well. Of course I could nitpick about the "english" natives and the "London underground station" and so on. And don't forget all the ads slapped directly into our faces. And don't forget the miraculous healing power of Chakri, who was serving again after being shot (which was not a stray shot in the arm or so).

All in all, this was overhyped and did not deliver. Aof said, he did the best he could. If that's the best, I don't see a future for Domundi. But of course the fangirls will overrate this show again, will not understand how weak that story was and that the drama was forced. And they will write glowing reviews (hello CRPH & thanks for blocking) not having a shroud of integrity to write about the flaws this show has. Normally this show would rate even lower, but I can't deny the acting performance (oh daddy Ramil you were the perfect asshole through out the series), the cinematography, costums and most of the staging and most of the music. But the script was trash. As I have written all of that - the conclusion is: This show is a waste of your time.

slow burn with emotial conflict and a cliffhanger

Why I do love slow burns, I am not a fan of mutliple couples, especially of the grown up sort on the side.
Two teachers are in the same boat as our MLs, but they know each other for more than 10 years and have not found the time to confess their feelings much much much earlier. This is a big downer of the whole show.
First I (and many others) assumend that both teachers where together, but much later on, we learn, that's not the case. That's also the reason why the female teacher has so much screen time.

Tians conflict is not really revealed. If you don't know the book, you don't know that he is a homophobe. The flashback in episode 11 shoulkd teach us that, but (!) it does not... yes he is disturbed what he has seen, but I would never have the conclusion that it makes him a homophobe. He also does not react as such in the two kissing scenes. So something is either lost from the book or lost in the script.

Other than that both characters are what you expect in a BL. One introvert, the other one an extrovert. Both with emotional damage. The character building was nicely done, You see that they are caring for each other and they are growing togehter. But they don't make the step to confess even when both feel the same. So the cliffhanger for Season 1 was done in the nicest way possible for the MLs, but the teachers were a disappointment.

So I personally have to disagree with "best BL 2024", I think that "Unknown" was better. It's a good show, with good acting, very good cinematography but the story is nothing we did not see already. It also has "Addicted Heroin" vibes but they resolve such a story in an other way. We get an unsatisfying ending because it looks like it was designed to have two seasons. Now we have to wait and see if we really get a second season, which is not a given.

A cute end to a partly nice show...

MDL graced us today with the page of the special, which was aired on May 10th (2026) or so. It could have been also just episode 25 of the Part 2, but no, there some people need an extra page. But should it not be "Fourever You Part 2 Special"?

This is the typical special I expected. It's mostly cute, it enforces the bond of the "bottom" friends and of course it also have quite childish parts in it. Production quality was on the level we expect from Wabi Sabi, nothing to complain there. Overall this special is nice enough to bring the series to an end. If you watched part 2, you will also like this most probably, even when it's not stellar or earthshattering. At least, it's cute. As usual my rating is only for the uncut version.

A completely different vibe from Season 1...

Sometimes MDL drives me crazy. When you have a 24 episode Season 2 it would have been nicer to decide first if you want to split the three arcs in three seperate pages or not. If I had not seen this page by chance I would never ever had an idea I should do a review here too. (And if you say you wrote the same in the other review, of course I did, this stresses me out!)

When "New Sijaw" is not directing the childification of any series disappears (even when he showed he can do differently too) which elevates this series in a huge way. But of course they could not pass on stupid soundeffects to make it a drama only, they always need some comedic relief.

The negative point of this story arc is the 2D villain father which comes straight from a trash detective novel. On the other hand we have a reunification with Phoons mom, which was a very nice touch.

After two years of being "together" I expected them to work out well and they did. Especially Tonliews ability to cry by a press of a button (I mean of course the call to "action") is incredible (if you see some of the BTS you see him laughing in one moment, then comes the scene and he looks like a very sad puppy crying his eyes out).

Central to the story is of course Phoons friendgroup, especially Ter and North pushing Phoon into the arms of Fah. Yes we would like to have such a friendgroup as well with undenying support always. The only sad point is that we don't see the 5th couple in this arc, after they very quite prominent in arcs one and two.

Production quality was top notch, except when they had to use on-body microphones which made it sound a bit muffeled in certain scenes. I only think this would be even better when they also went with 21:9 movie format.

Overall this was very nice to watch and so much better than most crap shows coming from Thailand this year. 24/25 we had Fourever You, Part 1 vs Your Sky and both were underwhelming equally, but this year, Fourever You, Part 2 vs Duang with You and the clear winner is Fourever You!

A slow burn to an happy end!

This series is on a very low budget and they made it a simple story with just two characters.

We have an extrovert and an introvert - so far nothing new - and they get closer just by talking and little bits of action. The two boys are not the cutest ones of a series, but they also look more real compared to most other actors we see in BLs. And I guess that's the charm of this series. It's simple, straightforward and it just does what a BL should do. No extra drama even when there are some conflicts and miscommunication. Also no overdramatized acting.

This series is best consumed when you had a stressful day, it calms you down and you will get an happy end. It's a short series with only about 8-10 minutes per episode with 8 episodes total. So, what is there not to like?

Too short to make it believable....

To tell a story of a man who has relation issues and compensates that with lot of sex with anyone he fancies can't be told in four ~8-9 minute episodes in my book. While we get an happy end, I'm not convinced that this releationship is stable. To create a fake profile online to check on a potential BF leaves a bitter taste. It would have been much better if Mr. Blonde one has talked about his issues before. It's only mentioned in a short scene in the middle of the final episode.

I did rewatch this short series again to find out if I missed something, but there was nothing. Production quality was surprisingly good and even the acting was not bad at all. So overall I think it's a nice watch but it misses some deeper story elements. But in 2025 we have to be glad, that we get at least some decent shows even when they are a bit too short for my taste.

many clichés, great acting

I only saw the prequel movie of this series some years ago and this series went along without I'm noticing it. Luckily I got to see it now.... So before you watch this series, you should watch the movie "The Boy Foretold By The Stars" first.

I'm a bit split with this series, because I really hate all the clichés they put into the series, and especially the bitchy mother. Also the more comedic bits with the fortune teller I could life without. On the other hand the relationsship development was well thought out, the acting was great and believable. While there are always some fluffy sequences there always comes the punch in your stomach which will give you pause and the couple faces a bigger problem. It's really an emotional rollercoaster.

While this series is not perfect, the important parts of the storyline are always there. I guess philipino BLs are glanced over easily which they should not. Compared to the crap nowadays (2025) especially from Thailand, this series has many redeeming qualities. So I would recommand to give it a try. Because this is a continuation of the movie, I would urge you to watch that first to get more context. Overall, I enjoyed it.

One giant plothole....

Excuse me? Where is the story?
We know, they were together in the past, but we have NO idea whatsoever why they split up...
And then, bam, they are together again, but we - the viewers - still don't know what happenend in the past. We only know he had a shitty father and that bastard died in the end.

I don't get such productions... It's extremly short... they did change actors inbetween even if it was short, than there was a girl who was petty as usual and beside some cute scenes there is nothing.

What a waste of time. Even when there are scenes in the youtube membership section not visible for the normal folks, I am not interested in, because the story did not exist, the plot-hole was so deep, I was distracted the whole series of what happend with them in the past. (Yes that girl had something with it to do, but why did they not talk about it, how did they misunderstood each other... that is all not explored and so, ruins the story completly.)
