I agree on the last one. But for me I had bigger expectations for cinematography of Pearl Girl from the trailer, I thought it will be as good as Love like the galaxy or my journey to you. But to be fair, in my opinion many Chinese dramas lack really well thought storytelling through shots, angles, and colors. In the last 16 or 17 th episode, I was quite shocked by how well I could tell that it was a green screen shot scene. Definitely, the plot and acting matters more and is good in the show, but I feel like really well-done cinematography makes the drama top-notch and just generally makes it a whole lot better.

I agree. They are so different that it is very strange to compare them. The drama cater to audience with different preferences, mood. So there is n sense for articles like this to be written. It feels like they are written just to induce fan wars

I definitely agree with you. It just depends on your mood and preferences. These statistics d not showcase how good the drama is or who is more popular, but rather the audience's current preferences. I think how good and popular is the drama is better showcased in a long-run, and how many people rewatch from time to time

Right? I watch both of them right now, and I do not think that actresses care that much if their drama is top 1 or top 2; for them probably being in top 3 is already quite great. These girls are booked and busy, so why care. On this matter, I do not why their fans care that much too. I found it too simple and somewhat cringey at first. It feels like Esther Yu just talk in "cute & childish voice" in this drama at al times, her emotions too. It just doesn't make sense to me. However, the story itself is kind of refreshing and has something interesting in it. If you would like to watch simply for a plot, I would suggest continuing the drama. (I like Esther Yu, I enjoyed her performance in Journey to You, which I think is a cinematic masterpiece in Chinese historical dramas. I understand the character is supposed to be cute and witty, but not to that extend, it just feels unbearable and forced)

I don't agree. It does have a similar plot to some other dramas, yet it has its own uniqueness and different character development. I definitely disagree that people want to watch something happy and fun, there are quite a lot of popular dramas that are tragic and bring tears to the eyes. Moreover, I feel like the fun dramas in Chinese industry are often too simple, and do not have layers to them - both in story and characters. Moreover, a lot of tragic dramas are so great because of the tragedy and sadness in them, if they are done correctly because audience can feel their emotions and cry with them. In my opinion, fun is good, and sometimes you want to watch a silly and uncomplicated drama, but other times sad and heartbreaking stories are the best. And in my opinion, autumn is a suitable season for sad stories.

I quite enjoy the show. I really like latest episodes, even if some episodes earlier were in comparison as good. However, I feel like from time to time editing and cinematography feels cheap and tacky, you can definitely see that it was shot on green screen or the angle of the shot simply doesn't suit the moment & feeling. Yet acting of actors was quite good, they showcased a variety of emotions in a way that can be understood by an audience and completes the whole idea of the scene.
