Thanks for reading 💜 I'm watching it on the official platform: https://www.iq.com
Happy to share my knowledge — and don’t be embarrassed. I accidentally stumbled into C-dramas about five years ago and I’ve never been the same. I watch them constantly now lol.
For international viewers, these are the main platforms where most of the action happens. All of them have mobile apps too:
• Viki – You’re absolutely right, Viki is the best choice for binging. It has the best subtitles, and the timed comments are sometimes funnier and more dramatic than the drama itself. The downside is that it’s a third-party site, so it often doesn’t have licenses for many original platform shows. If you’re watching something currently airing, it’s usually behind schedule compared to the original platforms, whereas the rest of the platforms on the list are the original platforms that are releasing the drama and most likely are the production company that made the drama happen.
• iQIYI – The one I sent you the link.Solid platform with good subs. Many of its original dramas aren’t available on Viki (for example, “How Dare You?!” is not on Viki atm). The interface is user-friendly and I love the skip intro/credits feature. It’s more expensive than Viki. Premium gives early access to the last few episodes of currently airing dramas.
• WeTV / Tencent Video – Good platform, though the subs aren’t always the best. I usually subscribe only if the drama isn’t available elsewhere. A lot of short dramas air here.
• Youku – Probably the greediest of them all lmao. The app is fine, but they often split early access and “express” packages into separate payments for airing dramas.
• Mango TV – My last resort. Subtitles aren’t the strongest and the interface isn’t great, but sometimes it’s the only option.
In short, I rotate subscriptions depending on what’s airing and whether I want to support my favorite actors’ projects. The whole “express package” system definitely took some getting used to when I first started watching.
At the beginning of my C-drama era, I binged everything interesting on Viki. Once I ran out, I started exploring the original platforms.
Hope this helps — or at least doesn’t confuse you more 😂 Feel free to ask if anything’s unclear.
PS: I do sometimes have issues with dramas that are region locked for me so I will watch on the free site bellow marked as spoiler
I stumbled into this in the perfect headspace, and it’s been a beautiful experience. There is endless depth and charm in simple living and wisdom. Loving the vibe, cinematography, humour and charisma this drama has.
Just started it, currently on ep. 5. Loving the overall vibe, even if the first case was pretty predictable. The leads are great, and I really hope they keep their current dynamic — I just can’t picture them in a romantic setup.
I can't believe this series is getting so many positive reviews and its rating isn't low, it's completely ridiculous!…
Yes, thank you! 👏👏👏 I didn't really say many negative things cause I didn't want to spoil everyone's fun but dang, I dropped it on ep.10 I just couldn't go on, I love me some dark romance but that's just not it 😭
Idk should I give this another try? I've been seeing people say it's good but I genuinely had to pause from the…
I have the same issue, I finished 9 episodes and I really don't know if I should continue. Everybody says is such a good drama and the reviews are all praising lol but i'm like ...staring into the void right now.... I'll give it a few more episodes and if it's not it, then it's not it 🤷♀️
Ive just dropped it. I prefer dramas, when main leads kiss voluntarily. if I start getting excited about forced…
I agree, it's one thing if it's a forced kiss ( not that it's ok of course, but given the genre also not surprising) but I'm on ep.8 and there are one too many , I just can't, it's making me feel super conflicted lmao I'll give it a few more episodes maybe it gets better cause again, I knew what I was getting into ....
Ok finally started this, omg, the drama runners smoked a whole arsenal or mushrooms with this one ahahaha and yeah totally guilty pleasure and all but dang, consent it a thing 😭
100% agree with this. I don’t find it controversial at all. I wish more people were like “you know it’s…
Totally agree. At the end of the day, it’s just nicer when people can disagree without it getting personal. It really does make the whole experience more enjoyable for everyone.
I actually had a similar experience in The Princess Royal comment section a while back — things got so aggressive there that I ended up taking a bit of a break from MDL altogether. Sometimes when it starts feeling exhausting, I switch to watching on Viki with the timed comments instead (if the drama I want to watch is available there). Those can be chaotic, but they’re often hilarious and way lighter in vibe.

Fair. I’ve definitely had my share of trying to debate with people where it feels like talking to a wall. Very few are actually interested in having a constructive discussion — most just want to be right. I’m the same as you: if I see people being inappropriate, irrelevant, or clearly just trying to stir things up, I usually block and move on. Sometimes it honestly feels like ragebait or boredom more than anything else.
I’ve blocked several users in different comment sections who, based on their comments, clearly haven’t even watched the drama and are just posting hateful or sexist takes. That kind of thing is obviously not what anyone is talking about when we say “different opinions.”
At the same time, I’ve also seen people say pretty normal things — like being disappointed, not feeling the chemistry, or just not connecting with the story — and they still get completely swamped by hate. It’s like some people feel the need to police the entire comment section, and God forbid someone has a different take (this is what made me write my original post in the first place).
I get that there’s a huge mix of cultures, ages, and personalities, and some people just lack tact. But at the end of the day, we’re all here to enjoy the experience. Disagreeing is part of that. Turning it into personal attacks is where it stops being fun for anyone.
I'm someone who lives through the 90s so I'm having to swallow some weirdness here. but my main question is the…
The first episodes are quite chaotic but the FL's character doesn't change that much in my opinion (I'm on ep.17), just her dynamic with the ML becomes more steady and engaging so I don't know, I'd say give it a few more eps and if you're still struggling maybe it's not worth forcing it.
