Donβt worry, I was also struggling at the first few episodes, thought FL wasnβt that great but you will find…
I'm on ep.4 and I like where this is going (and yes, I've seen some backbone from the FL, hopefully it will increase), the cinematography is also gorgeous, so glad this picks up π Thank you π Does the novel have a happy ending?
Not just you, I felt a little slow in the beginning but episode 5 onward, you will love it π I love it so much,…
That's excellent news! And I'm so glad it's not just me π can't wait the storm to start cause they've been setting up for a good plot wheel even if it took forever π€£
Just started this and the pacing feels exceptionally slow (could be because I came here after a verticalπ), y'all does this pick up? I'm on ep.3 π
I also feel relieved of finally finished it for reasons i canβt quite figuring outπ Itβs very dragging…
LMAO exactly π Even if TTEOTM is angsty AF, at least the storytelling knows where itβs going π After this one, Iβd take emotional damage over narrative confusion any day.... Thanks for reading π«Ά
such a great review and I agree with everything. white hair guy is all visual appeal honestly, this man really…
Thank you for reading π«Ά Yup, the white hair guy is pretty great visually, he sells the vibe π₯ I have 2 more eps to watch but somehow I highly doubt it's gonna be a massive turn around, still, not a bad one.
Thank you for reading! ππ«Ά Finding a good drama right after POJ is basically emotional self-sabotage ππ…
In no particular order:
-A Familiar Stranger -A Lucid Dream -An Ancient Love Song (cool concept, but a melancholic ending ) -Doppelganger -Fortune Writer -Gemini -Hard to Find -Rise from the Ashes -Supervisor Husband -Enslaved by Love -Money Honey Brainy -Money Is Coming -Shall We Dance -Sinful Marriage -The Deliberations of Love -The Fragments of Kylin -The Tower of Whispers -Threads of Destiny -Marry Me Again -The Rebirth -The Maid
Thank you for reading! ππ«Ά Finding a good drama right after POJ is basically emotional self-sabotage ππ…
Agreed about SOKP and LLTG! π
Yep, although I haven't watched Dazzling or LSIT70 (I'm not a huge Arthur Chen fan, so I also skipped Love Beyond the Grave haha). π
I actually pushed through Speed and Love purely for HeYu, but omg... it was a struggle. π Esther's voice is definitely an acquired taste, and for me, after seeing so many of her dramas where she plays this exact type of cutesy character, it was painful to get through. π Plus... the step-sibling trope really needs to be banned at this point. π
Haha, yesss Ryan Cheng is great! I first discovered him in a mini drama and absolutely loved him there β A Familiar Stranger. It's actually by the same director as POJ, this is when I really started following both Ryan Cheng and this director

It really depends on your taste, honestly. π POJ appealed to such a wide range of viewers that everyone's looking for something a little different afterward.
Aside from Zhao Zhao, I've watched all the dramas on your list. I enjoyed most of them, although I did drop Overdo around episode 10. π I think I've just watched way too many Republican-era dramas with this plot.
- Blossoms of Power was a really fun watch! The ML is serious eye candy π, and the whole story is basically him trying to melt the heart of an ice princess. It does drag a bit around the middle to second half, but I'd still recommend giving it a chance.
-The First Jasmine is excellent, though definitely more emotional. It takes a few episodes to really get going, but it's such a rewarding watch with layered characters, multiple POVs, and a genuinely strong story. I absolutely loved this one.
- How Dare You is a lot of fun if you don't take it too seriously. π It's actually more layered than the premise initially suggests. It does have a few filler episodes (which I'm personally not a fan of), but the visuals are gorgeous and the chemistry and romance are really good.
-Key to the Phoenix Heart... I actually ended up loving this one even more than Blossoms of Power. The pacing is tighter, the plot stays engaging, and I honestly don't remember a single boring episode. The leads are amazing.
All of these have happy endings and great chemistry, so I'd happily recommend any of them. β€οΈ
A few more that I really enjoyed:
- Butterflied Lover - It's on the shorter side, but it's directed by the same director as POJ, and even the second male lead is in it! A really solid short drama, but slightly open ended.
-The Blossoming Love - A very interesting watch. It's definitely a "she fell first, he fell harder" kind of story, so if you don't mind the FL doing the chasing for a while, I'd absolutely recommend it.
-Story of Kunning Palace - If you enjoy morally grey leads, this one's iconic. π This is honestly the kind of intensity I was lowkey expecting from Zhang Linghe in POJ. He's a walking red flag here... but somehow it works perfectly. π
-Love in the Clouds - Incredible chemistry, gorgeous visuals, and lovable characters. Easily one of my favorites from last year.
-Fated Hearts - A badass FL and an equally badass ML. They start off as enemies before growing into one of my favorite mature power couples.
There are honestly so many more I could recommend, but these are the first ones that came to mind. π Also, don't sleep on mini dramas! Their budgets and episode lengths are obviously much smaller than full-length dramas, but there are some absolute gems out there. Once you get used to the format, they're incredibly addictive.
Exactly my thoughts ! I could not have written it better. Probably will give it a 6 but that's because this was…
Thank you for reading! ππ«Ά Finding a good drama right after POJ is basically emotional self-sabotage ππ The bar is somewhere in the stratosphere π so the contrast with your next watch might give you whiplash π€‘
BUT DON'T LOSE HOPE!! π«‘β¨ There are still plenty of amazing C-dramas out there waiting to ruin your sleep schedule, your emotional stability, and your ability to function like a normal human being. ππΊβ€οΈ
