Review Inherently Kind Spoiler
How is the spice level? Where did you watch it? Vertical drama is my after work chill session....so thank you…
The spice is medium high. Watched it on the free site: https://kisskh.co/ there's an app if you're watching from phone, you can download it on their site. If you have a subscription, you can watch it on Tencent. Thanks for reading ;)

Writers whiteboard....so good! I just about gave up on even starting this episode because many reviewers said…
They definitely stretched the high school era too much, I feel if this had 5-8 episodes less in that ark, it would've been much better.
Happy watching if you decide to give it a try ! Thank for reading ;)

Title Never-Ending Summer Spoiler
I'm thinking of watching this now that it's almost over so I was wondering what the otp's like? The usual cdrama…
I honestly think it's just a generalized preference. Most of the target audience for romance dramas is on the younger side, and for some reason the "ML falls first, falls harder, and does 99% of the heavy lifting" formula has become the default. Probably because it's about as far from reality as you can get. 😂

Personally, I prefer a middle ground. I'm not a fan of an overly simping ML, but I also don't enjoy the cold, stoic guy who's basically a grunting statue for 95% of the drama. It all comes down to the writing. And I completely agree that a strong, independent FL and an affectionate, devoted one are not mutually exclusive—they can absolutely coexist if the writers put more thought into writing female characters as actual people.

What frustrated me the most with this drama, though, wasn't even the romance dynamic—it was the conflicts. Most of them barely made sense, and the way the leads handled them was equally baffling. Sure, they're 18 for about two-thirds of the story, but the constant misunderstandings and lack of trust made it hard for me to root for them.

The biggest example is the breakup. The FL leaves because the ML got stabbed protecting her and she's terrified he'll keep getting hurt. Fine. But instead of simply leaving, she tells him she never loved him. Then the ML just... believes her without really questioning what happened, yet spends the next 10 years unable to move on. That whole sequence was incredibly frustrating to watch.

At the end of the day, I watched it for the leads. They have fantastic chemistry, looked great together, and both gave really solid performances. I just wish the writing had matched their potential. And the Mango subtitles definitely didn't do the drama any favors either.

Anytime!
I get you, personally I actually loved the FL character in this one quite a bit since I could relate to her on so many levels, but yes, if you are looking for a dynamic like that, this one will piss you off :) The most fresh modern drama with a more balanced dynamic that comes to mind is Love between lines, but indeed, practically nonexistent lately

That's been happening for a few dramas recently. They'll update it in probably 2-3 days or sooner.
Oh, really? Thanks 🙌

It leans more toward the ML being the more outwardly “in love” and active one for most of the story—he falls harder first, does most of the chasing, and even after the 10-year separation he’s the one trying to win her back.

That said, it’s not one-sided in feelings. The FL does care about him deeply (we later learn she had admired him even before they properly met), but she’s much more restrained in how she shows it since her character was forced to be more mature due to circumstances.

After they reconcile as adults, it becomes noticeably more balanced and sweet, with her also being openly affectionate and even proposing.

So overall: more ML-yearning heavy for a good chunk of it, but not a purely “he does 99% of the work” type throughout. I loved the last 5 episodes, but the 20+ eps before that frustrated me

Guys I'm watching ep.29 now on MgTV, but I think they messed up the editing cause the scenes sometimes are chopped, out of order 😭

As far as mini dramas go this one actually got me invested.
Loved it, chemistry was ok, characters were questionable sometimes, it did have a lot of the common tropes but all in all not a bad one. The ending though 🤦‍♀️ spoiler below

ok I hate how cdrama synopses basically describe what happens halfway or sometimes even more in the drama. so…
It depends if you enjoy to binge a drama or prefer one episode a day. Personally I prefer to binge as for me the one episode a day loses the momentum and I regret starting it so early tbh especially that we have yet to see the big angst plot point...plus the airing schedule is pure torture...

It's cute and messy, love the leads but I'm lowkey exhausted from this push and pull situation lol
For real! I don’t get why the FL just doesn’t tell the ML everything—he would 100% help her, and they could at least team up and plan something against the evil mom. Even if they had to pretend at first, it would stop her from constantly sabotaging both their futures.

I’m honestly just counting down to the adult arc at this point haha
