Who would’ve thought that watching a C-drama and just wanting to casually discuss plot points and character development (or regression) would turn into a full-blown chaos spiral 7 times out of 10 because of fan wars… silly me 😁

It’s good that both Chinese and Korean industries are starting to take legal action in more serious cases. I also agree fandom spaces can escalate quickly when boundaries aren’t respected. That said, not all criticism or strong opinions online fall into the same category as harassment, but when it does cross that line and affect real people, it definitely shouldn’t be ignored.
At an individual level, ignoring and blocking the more delusional takes is probably the most practical approach.
As a C-drama watcher without many people around me who are into it, MDL is a nice place for discussion, but honestly very few comment sections stay fully drama-free or non-toxic, which is frustrating af....
