The only righteous person in this story is Lee Gon. Everyone else is either super annoying, a murder sympathizer, or a murderer. This crappy story should've been 12 episodes.

One of the best scenes is the FL telling her dad that his actions in the name of love are evil and unjustifiable. Then, she refuses to abandon her murder of a father due to their father-daughter relationship. Now, according to the previews, she wants to stop her father after learning that he killed her mother (which may not be true because the bodyguard may have misinterpreted what he saw). So, the FL has no clear moral compass. She was willing to stand by her evil daddy so long as her mother wasn't the victim.

She didn't hide her lover's dead body. He was her mentor.

The difference is the FL didn't raise the ML as her adopted son. Also, Yehua was technically the same age as his twin brother.

So the ML grows up and falls in love with his adoptive mother? Yeah, I'll pass.

12 episodes in, this drama is about QD and Choi's love story. They are essentially this show's main couple. This drama's biggest mistake is focusing on the wrong love story. Although the QD and the physician's love story is more interesting than the ML and FL's, it's hard to root for because it's between two morally objectionable characters. Who thought this was a good idea?

This drama's biggest mistake is focusing on the wrong love story. Although the QD and the physician's love story is more interesting than the ML and FL's, it's hard to root for because it's between two morally objectionable characters. The show's attempt to make me sympathize with them via flashbacks isn't working. I know they were wronged in the past, but they're still horrible people who won't hesitate to frame and murder the innocent to get their way. I find myself rooting for their painful execution rather than a happy ending for them. The best part of this show is the story between the brothers. I hope they never betray each other.

This drama dedicates so much screen time to so many unlikeable characters.

I almost dropped this because of the mother-in-law and the overly filial son. But the romance kept me watching. This drama portrays one of the best slow-burn romance stories I've read in a Chinese Drama. Their progression felt natural. Very well done.

Then don't watch period dramas.

The drama desperately wants to redeem the QD. They can't do that via sad and tragic flashbacks. Her tragic backstory, although it provides context, is not an excuse for her evil behavior in the present. If they intend to redeem her character, she needs to confront her past actions and work towards making amends in the present. At some point, it seems like DS will turn on his brother for the girl. When that happens, I will drop this mediocre drama.
