Meng Zi Yi's MDL Flower ranking is now #148! This is up 7 places from #155 with only a few hundred flowers added,…
I'm totally with you on that- and appreciate you and others who stand by her. And it's very possible she will rise to be in the top 100 not too far in the future. I'll certainly keep doing my part (and happily so) to help that happen.
Meng Ziyi, if you happen to stumble onto this thread one day and see some less than complimentary comments below; by all means, you just keep right on making full use of those big, gorgeous eyes. The Director seems fine with them; and is obviously the one emphasizing their beauty; and your fans certainly aren't complaining. I'm really into Princess's Gambit right now too- ready for the next episode!
(Update to my previous comments): I just watched that interview where she explains that she was once rejected for a role because she was considered "too pretty" to play that particular character. To be clear, my first comments (above) were a reaction to some comments below that implied that all she does is rely on her looks, which is ridiculous. Of course she can act, and very well at that! I think she has matured into a wonderful, talented, well-rounded actress over the years, worthy of respect and admiration as both a beauty and excellent actor. 'Nuff said on my part.
Delighted that Wan Peng is in Love's Ambition with Lusi! Hoping it airs sooner rather than later...I love and admire both Rosy and Peng very much, and am looking forward to this immensely.

Re: several threads below...I've been trying for a couple weeks to see if Lusi's contract was really terminated with Galaxy Cool Entertainment, but have mostly been seeing unverified rumors as well. As yet, there appears to be no firm report posted by GCE or Rosy. Today however, while searching using Chinese instead of English, I did find a Jun 19 article on Sohu that mentions it in a rather matter of fact way.:
The article mentions some circumstantial evidence of such, but I'm still not 100% satisfied that it's a done deal. We'll have to wait for some official announcement I think.
As much as everything else wonderful about her, I really love the sound of her voice when she's just talking, like reading her birthday cards in this vlog post.
I hope your whole day was filled with much happiness, Jie! ππ₯π―β€οΈ
After watching the first episode, I wasn't sure where this was going or if I'd stick around (mainly because the ML kept passing out when FL cries, and I worried that they would overuse that).
Well, I'm now on Ep. 9 and can say it's getting better and better as it goes (not that it was bad starting off, just a bit strange). More characters are coming in almost every episode, keeping it lively and giving us twists and turns. And of course, I've always really liked both Nana and Jeremy.
Xia Nan being in this is a bonus for me, because she can play any type of character with total ease. And she's uniquely beautiful...so yes- thumbs up for this series!
The reaction to scandals of only one actor/actress always seems a tad extreme, no? It's like how in many dramas, the entire family and all the servants would be executed by the Emporer for the crimes of one family member. Everyone loses.
I assume none of the actors and crew get paid in full for all their hard work until a series airs, but I could be wrong. Will need to research that later.
Anyway, I hope 'Light My Way" gets the green light soon so we can enjoy Wan Peng's and the others' efforts.
Absolutely I agree with xue er on Nana! Saw her first in 'Snowfall' and thought she was remarkably talented, lovely and sweet. I found a You Tube short earlier today; a promo she did for Chaumet three years ago, and she is breathtakingly gorgeous; but she comes across as humble, genuine...real in other words.
I just started watching 'Yong A Dream,' and like a great book you can't put down, I'm all in! π―πΊ β€οΈ
At episode 27 and am surprised that Jing Yi hasn't had much more screen time. Maybe, hopefully, her scenes will increase in future episodes. "Blossoms in Adversity" made me a fan, and I hope she will continue landing more FL roles in the future. Btw, LZH has been an excellent show overall, imo.
Interesting how any time a show takes off in popularity, the FL inevitably gets attacked by a certain poster on MDL. Word of advice: it's far better to praise the ones you like than bash the ones you don't. You only end up hurting, not helping, your favorite star or stars. It's a rather simple concept, actually. I wonder if that poster writes negative political ads for a living. Peace and out. π
Happy Birthday Song! (I'm a day late, sorry). And yes, the new profile pic is gorgeous!
I'm so happy for you that this fantastic series (Prisoner of Beauty- thank you Tencent) was released, and that the trials you've recently gone through has come to an end. All the best to you in the future!
Xiao Man has some of the best, wittiest lines I've ever heard in a drama, and Song's delivery of them is impeccable. She is epic at times when she has had enough and speaks her mind. Fast-paced, top notch cast, very well written imo. It's great that this series was finally released (thank you Tencent!) or we would all be missing out on a real gem. Can't wait for Ep. 14! β€οΈπ―π₯
Rosy is holding onto a strong #3 flower lead, I'm so glad to see her with that well-deserved count! She's doing wonderfully in her life and career right now despite all the headwind she gets out there from certain haters, and from some recent unfortunate events. She has triumphed over them all. Stay strong, healthy, and happy, Lusi! πβ€οΈπ₯
For any who haven't finished this series yet and dislike spoilers, be careful when scrolling down through the comments as there are several pretty big ones that weren't flagged.
This was such a great show imo. Sun Li is incredibly talented (not that that's a surprise for any of her fans). The show got better and better after the midway point too- plenty of twists and turns.
Here's a link to recent You Tube clip of Yi Xin and wow, she looks more stunning than ever. No English subs for these, but it's good to see her making appearances again. Seems like it's been quite a while.
First saw her in 'Side Story of Fox Volant' and was immediately a fan. I've watched at least 8 other full series of hers since then, and have enjoyed her performances very much. Even if the ML or her sidekick is not to my taste, this talented, sweet angel keeps me watching them through to the last episode. Right now, I'm on Ep. 6 of 'Mr. Honesty' and am loving it!
Jie, you are an exceptionally gifted and beautiful young woman. Much happiness to you... as they say, live well! π― β€οΈπ₯
BTW, this drama is really well done, imo. Now on episode 11 and sill happily binging!
