can yall explain what happens at the end? like who is baek heesung? was he like the killer or not
The real Baek Hee Sung is the killer. His parents knew all along. Lee Joon Gi character is hired by the parents to act as Baek Hee Sung to not make it obvious that their son has problems, the plan was once the son was perfectly well, they will abandon Lee Joon Gi character.
RANT: Female lead cries (even though it's her husband who she loves who is the father of her child whom she is finding out is a possible serial killer), people complain. Female lead finds concrete evidence that the husband she has defended before may have actually done a bad deed (episode 14) and almost arrests him, people still complain. People just find all sorts of reasons to hate the female lead for having a breakdown upon finding out her husband can be a possible killer, what kind of reaction do people want from her, be happy, smile? Remember, her husband lied to her for 14 freaking years. Then when she suddenly wanted to arrest her husband in episode 14 for finding evidence he may have actually did bad stuff people still complain. I think Cha Ji Won's reactions for what she is finding out about her husband is fully justified. Normal for her to cry since the husband she loves so much is a possible criminal (and he did hide so much from her). Normal for her to cry since she heard herself her husband mentioning he doesn’t love her. If you were in her position, finding out the man you love and have a child with being a possibly criminal and then saying he doesn’t love you, will you not cry? We didn't see her crying in front of her coworkers do we? It's hard for her to control her emotions since her husband she loves so much is always on the brink of death/being arrested, but she did try to stop her tears from falling when she is at work. She did defend him and even saved him from almost death in episode 11. I may sound totally biased already but the female lead also delivered extremely well and her existence is the main reason why this drama has heart and help enable the male lead to overcome the trauma of his past. ADDED/EDITED: I still can't believe some people thought the female lead doesn't love the male lead enough just because she doubted him on one later episode. She's a detective for goodness sakes! One of the interesting conflicts of the drama that some people fail to see is on how the female lead balances her being a wife vs her being a detective, and I think she really did well. She's allowed to have doubts about him after all that she's suffered (and having tried to defend him to her fellow detective before). (I sometimes wonder if the male lead is the one who played Jiwon and the female lead is the one who played the husband, will the reactions be different since the male lead actor is so much more popular and loved by everyone compared to the female lead actress). RANT OVER.
If you consider the main couple being together in the end as a happy ending, no matter their situation, then it is a happy ending. I guarantee you they're both alive in the end but it's up to you to watch to know the fate of the other characters.
I also hope that under her news agency, they can give her opportunity to act in great movie. It okay just supporting…
I think because Kim So Hyun did act with idols (ex: Doh Kyung Soo), was in many teen and high school dramas (Love Alarm, School 2015), meanwhile Yoo Jung's projects post Moon Sun are not as popular except for Love in the Moonlight. Actually, immediately after Moon Sun (aired early 2012), although So Hyun's performance was praised, Kim Yoo Jung was the one who got a lot of attention after Moon Sun. Add to the fact that she's been in many popular works even before that drama. So Hyun did a lot of work in 2012, throughout the year her profile was raised higher and higher. The climax of this was the drama Missing You, where she and Yeo Jin Goo reunited (aired late 2012). So Hyun playing Yoo Jung's rival in Moon Sun, plus the fact that both were the same age and shipped to Yeo Jin Goo was i think the reason of the fanwar between both actresses. I personally really love them both though I prefer So Hyun to reunite with Jin Goo since I want Yoo Jung to reunite with actor Lee Tae Ri (ironically he was also playing a second lead in Moon Sun and he and Yoo Jung were also a childhood couple in Grudge the Revolt of Gumiho like So Hyun and Jin Goo in Missing You),.
Leads meeting as kids always has me rolling my eyes. Overlooking that, the first 2 eps were quiet solid. Excited…
I'd like to think they were more like in their late teens when they met, then most of the story happens when the lead characters are at least in their mid to late twenties.
Musical actress? I wonder if she's the one who played Eponine for Les Mis Korea? Love her version of On My Own
My goodness! She actually is! I searched her in Korea's Namu wiki. More reason to be excited for Bloody Heart. Here is her sample of singing On My Own: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OcpVuV9gxQ
i remember watching Arthdal back in 2019 and having to mute her name when searching for the drama because all I see is complaints why she only appeared for 11 seconds. (also i just want to mention that idol and kpop fans are the reason i don't really stan any idol actor no matter how good they are at acting because they will always get more hype than they deserve and it will be easier for them to getmain character roles simply because they have bigger fanbases).
Sad that Joongki passed this role. The writer is one of the best in Kdramaland. I guess the lackluster response…
I'm just really disappointed he had to go. Part of it is because my fave project of his before Arthdal is also his cameo in a drama by these writers (Tree with Deep Roots where Shin Se Kyung is the female lead). He has all the time after to make many modern dramas similar to Vincenzo or his new chaebol drama, wish he and Kim Ji Won chose to stay.
