Everyone keeps saying Flora was the red flag and that Luke was always in love with her, but I think people are forgetting how Luke started this relationship in the first place.

Flora was constantly left to assume things. Communication was a problem on both sides, but I would argue that Luke often established the emotional pattern first, and Flora followed it.

But when there is a significant age and experience gap, there is naturally an imbalance in authority and confidence. Her personality really came out when she was with people her own age like her roommate where she felt more comfortable and equal.

I also think we need to consider the production circumstances. The show was reportedly shortened from 32 episodes to 24, and I think that affected how some of the character development and relationship issues were presented.
For me, this was ultimately a toxic workplace relationship, not a story about one person being a red flag and the other being an innocent victim.
Luke and Flora both needed that breakup.
They needed time apart to understand themselves, recognize where they had gone wrong, and grow as individuals. And when they eventually came back together, they were stronger because of that growth.
They were both flawed. They both contributed to the toxicity. They both needed to reflect and they did. That's what made their eventual reunion meaningful to me.

Periods can be very bad. I was lucky enough to never feel the pain, but my best friend in college (she isnt around anymore) had terrible periods... so terrible that she even ended in hospital couple of times.. thats when i learned periods can be brutal as well. I don’t support Navier simply because she is the main character. I support her because she is an anti-heroine.
In a world dominated by men, Navier knew exactly what she wanted and stayed focused on it. Yes, she knew that her husband had the right to take concubines in their society. But her husband specifically promised her that he wouldn’t. Then he broke that promise and took a mistress.
And what did Navier do? She didn’t create a huge scene. She didn’t try to harm Rashta or her child. She simply wanted to keep her distance from them. And honestly, why should she automatically trust the mistress and assume she was innocent? Navier had lived her entire life in a manipulative political environment. She knew how people could use situations to their advantage.
For Navier, the throne was important. Being Empress was her dream and her goal. It was the position she had prepared her entire life for. She was selfish about it, absolutely, but what is wrong with that? She knew what she wanted and stayed focused on achieving it.
And when she became Empress of the Western Kingdom, she understood that she had responsibilities there too. She supported Heinrey and did her duty as his wife and Empress, just as she had done for the Eastern Empire.
Navier was never trying to be a judge of war crimes or decide who was morally perfect. She was a selfish woman who wanted to keep the position she had worked her entire life to attain. And honestly, I don’t see anything wrong with that.
In fact, I think that is one thing people can learn from her: be focused on your goals.

He also allowed her to be labeled infertile, despite the fact that both of them had fertility issues.
Heinrey, on the other hand, loved Navier, supported her, and showed her a completely different side of what a husband could be like.
Why would Navier deliberately destroy her own married life by trying to be “the morally righteous one” in a society where these things were considered normal?
And honestly, I don’t understand why people criticize her for being privileged or classist. She was born into nobility. That was the world she was raised in. You can criticize the system itself, but why blame someone simply for being born into privilege?
Being born with a silver spoon is luck. Navier didn’t choose her birth or create the class system. Why should she be expected to live like someone who was born without those privileges?
And this is where I think people need to remember the setting of the story. It is a world where social classes, concubines, political marriages, and even things we consider morally unacceptable today were normalized.
If we are going to judge Navier for accepting the norms of her society, then we also have to acknowledge that those same societal norms shaped everyone else’s behavior.
The thing I genuinely liked most about Navier was her selfishness and determination. She knew what she wanted, she knew what she had to protect, and she refused to throw away her own future just to make everyone else comfortable.

4. She had no obligation to accept the mistress’s child. Soveishu had promised her that she would be his only wife. He broke that promise. Why should Navier have to sacrifice her dignity and accept the consequences of his betrayal?
5. Navier always had a clear goal: remaining Empress. When she realized she was going to be divorced, she didn’t sit around waiting for someone to save her. She immediately started thinking about what she would do next. She basically found herself another position through marriage to Heinrey. Meeting him at the right time was partly luck, but she was already planning her future.
6. Heinrey was completely in love with her. He took the opportunity because he genuinely wanted her.
7. Without Heinrey, Navier would have been a discarded Empress. She would have been humiliated and potentially become a laughingstock. And even after marrying Heinrey, her life wasn’t magically perfect. She still had to navigate an entirely new environment and deal with its problems.

She and Soveishu had eaten the same fertility reducing/abortion inducing cookies when they were young, and neither of them had been able to have children. If she hadn't married Heinery, she would have been stigmatized to be infertile for life and may be never remarried.
So what exactly do people expect from Navier?
She was a mature woman in her late 20s or early 30s, not a teenager. Should she have become a doormat to a teenage girl and shown endless mercy while her own husband betrayed her?
Empresses aren’t supposed to be bootlickers. They are expected to be composed, politically intelligent, calm, and sometimes cold and calculating. That doesn’t automatically make them evil.
Yes, historically, it was normal for kings and emperors to have multiple wives or consorts. But that isn’t the point here. Navier’s husband specifically promised her that she would be his only wife. Then he brought in a mistress, had a child with her, divorced Navier, and expected Navier to simply accept everything.
And for what? To make his child a legitimate heir? To replace Navier because she was supposedly unable to have children?
How is Navier the villain in that situation?
The real culprit is the Emperor Sovieshu.
Rashta was fine until she started doing terrible things. I don’t hate her because I understand how she was manipulated and mistreated, but I don’t excuse her actions either.
Navier, on the other hand, remained consistent throughout the story. She didn’t suddenly become cruel or evil. In fact, I think she became even better after marrying Heinrey because she finally had someone who genuinely valued and respected her.
