There was a Chinese-language ELLE article recently where they claimed overall budget is 300 million yuan and of that 200 million was spent on VFX/CGI.

Presumably, scene with him 200 years later would be in a hypothetical Season 3 (or end of Season 2). I think Season 2 would be him wandering around that new location.

Not confirmed yet. Depends on financial performance of this season. Meaning, even if Yang Yang is willing to return, it’s all about the money & financing.

Last 4-5 episodes felt a bit like a war movie where everyone’s saying farewell to each other as they are embarking on impossible missions from which there is no coming back. That’s what elevated this series for me, personally.

NGW probably would’ve stayed behind because she feels a bit of responsibility to protect others (her ties to this land are deeper). HL, on the other hand, is free to travel wherever. But, of course, that’s a hypothetical question.

This is just a teaser. Based on the novel, their relationship will develop further after Han Li returns.

Nice! Rating went up to 8.3 as more people are finally eating the series after express package came out.

Like others have said, he didn’t go to “heaven”, he just traveled very, very away within the same world (think of going from China to Caribbean). Without that teleport array, it’d take many years flying to get there.

If you scroll to earlier comments today, someone did a very good write up. But, basically, he teleported to a land very, very far away.

It’s a somewhat hopeful to-be-continued open ending because this is a first part of a longer story. We all hope for Season 2 of live action, but it will depend on financial results of Season 1. Nothing has been announced yet.

I don’t think FL would show up again until Season 3.

The short answer is we don’t know yet. It all will depend on how this drama does financially. If it’s profitable for YOUKU then it’s a possibility.

All that matters for possibility of Season 2 is how much money YOUKU is making/losing. MDL ratings aren’t hugely reliable, especially for C-dramas.
