11 k watchers... but not even 10% of rated it? Why?
Explress package just dropped on August 12. Presumably most people wait to rate until they finished the series.

Title The Immortal Ascension Spoiler
When did irritating charm girl become the daughter of the big bad? Did I skip an episode?
It was a few episodes ago when she got kidnapped by the young villain and brought to the main bad guy. That’s when we learned who her real parents are.

Finished the whole season, objectively speaking, I kinda agree with the 8.2 rating. Maybe 8.4-8.5 would be better.…
HL & NGW story would really pick up in Season 3 (assuming there’s one). Based on ending of Season 1, the cast for Season 2 would have to be all different other than Yang Yang.

Im in 25th episode and was #Disappointed thinking how they will wrapped up everything in next 5 episodes but now…
The novel is very long (and there’s a slightly shorter sequel), so they are trying to do it right by attempting multiple seasons. At the moment, though, it hasn’t been confirmed whether there will be a season 2. It depends on the profitability of this series, so let’s hope that works out. In the meantime, you can try to continue with ongoing donghua (ep. 64) or with manhua (chapter 173).

Only on Ep 23, waiting for more Ep release to binge 🤗
Donghua isn’t close to being finished yet *sigh* Was manhua fully completed?

Title The Immortal Ascension Spoiler
Finally my NGW appeared. She is really funny 😂. But they should made the series with more episodes. Right now…
The book is very long so this is just a first part of his journey. Next, he will have a lot of adventures in his new destination before coming back (we know he comes back because of very first scene in Ep. 1).

Thanks! Maybe it makes sense in the context of other things in the novel. Here, Anxi is supposed to be a trusted lieutenant of the general which would imply not holding a family hostage. But okay, not going to think too much :)

It probably will because of censorship in China where TT is concerned. My advice: it was real time travel, this…
The Princesa Royal managed to sneak time travel/rebirth past censors but, yes, usually they explain it as occurring inside a dream or inside of a book that one of the leads is writing. It can be done well but we’ll see what happens here.

According to title I dont see anyone have asend to immortality
It will take more time. The original novel (and sequel) are very long. Ongoing donghua has 156 episodes out (roughly same runtime as 52 45-minute episodes) and it’s covered maybe 1/4 of the book.

I haven't watched the drama but i have read the manhua about 2060 chapters. How is it compared to manhua?
People who have read the original novel and watched donghua generally agree that it’s pretty close to those sources. They said some things got slightly changed but live action drama is created by same team as donghua, so they didn’t turn this into a typical romance drama or anything like that.

For real 😮 Even if they normally keep gates open, shouldn’t there have been sentries ans lookouts? That and constant comedic situations now make me think this is a more lighthearted drama instead of being super-serious. I still enjoy it though. P.S. The way that FL gets drunk often is straight out of a modern drama. Especially in Ep. 14 — she knows that person isn’t good but she still got hammered? Weird.

The father claimed it was ML’s father who got the son killed. And now ML has to pay for his father’s sin. I mean, it’s not the worst excuse ever for a drama, but still not very realistic.

Am I the only one who finds the spy’s (inside man) motive for revenge to be really unreasonable? So, his son died because he was in ML’s father’s army… but it’s an army and many people die. Perhaps the book explained it better 😳

There’s no FL in this drama. There’s only Main Character and his journey to immortality. There’s no romance…
Yes, NGW is a lead but their story is just beginning here. We won’t see it until Season 3 😁

😂 This comment is killing me, it’s basically saying, “If you want literally anything to happen… nope.”…
Very fair point. The plot feels like a video game a bit and may not be for everyone. I would say that the latest episodes have been more somber and emotional — they gave actors opportunity to show some of their strengths.
