There was a lot of speculation that the drama wouldn’t have enough budget to do a face swap and would be shelved completely. But they must’ve started working on it a long time ago… only for it to turn out that it probably wasn’t necessary because the guy got cleared. But must’ve been too late to go back to original version 🙄🥺

I love that characters behave rationally and are smart. They don’t waste 20 episodes on silly misunderstandings or fall victim to obvious traps set by bad guys.

ML is definitely blind because he said that FL’s looks can’t match her brains 🧠🫣🤣

BTW, have you watched Are You the One? That may be WCR’s best role to date. MDL summary for it is inaccurate but it’s the one historical drama I keep rewatching whenever I get too frustrated with quality of screenwriting in other C- or K-dramas 😁

I believe so too, but that drama had a huge budget so they did it better. But I can’t stand the sight of this ex and that ex, so they could’ve replaced them with a 💩 face and I’d be fine 🤣

Early episodes aren’t the best (possibly due to cutting of the scenes with FL ex), but it gets better in episode 3 and finds its groove in episode 4.

It starts to get better with episode 3 and really good with episode 4. Seems like episodes 1 & 2 got cut quite a bit to decrease screentime of FL’s boyfriend. The actor who played him got into trouble so multiple dramas (including this one) did an AI face swap with a different actor. Ironically, just recently that actor got cleared of his charges but they must’ve started on that process a long time ago (that’s why the drama was so delayed).

Point taken, they were all very popular overseas :)
Those are very challenging entry points though — it’s hard to find dramas better than those, lol… Imagine watching a typical CGI-heavy historical drama after insanely high budget & movie-quality cinematography of PoJ 🫣🤣

I can only guess they showed FL+ex relationship in greater detail similar to ML+ex. So that we can know why both of them separated from each other. But at this point it doesn’t matter so much — now the exes are gone so we can focus on leads living together. And as we all know, 102% of people forced to live together eventually become a couple 🤣 (I actually liked how it was done in Put Your Head on My Shoulder when it was the parents who conspired to do that, lol)

Our guy isn’t the greenest of green flags, but he’s clearly trying to find ways to give her money while saving her face :)

Is HL even that much better? Not hating on HL (Inrated it 9.0), but it’s clearly not for all demographics and don’t think it had the same budget as TFF.

But I have Meeting You as one of my rare 10.0, so I’m probably considered an old school person.

P.S. People who complain about this drama need to watch Dream High 🤣🥰😁

It starts to get really good in episode 3 and episode 4 is even better. To save money on AI face swap, they probably cut out a lot of scenes of FL and her (ex)boyfriend (the guy who got AI swapped), so we didn’t see a lot of their backstory.

If I didn’t learn he was the one who got AI’d, I’d never notice. This drama wasn’t shot with TFF/POJ level cinematography, so it’s alright. I think it’s more noticeable in the editing — the ex’s scenes must’ve been cut out quite a bit in episode 1 & 2 (to save on AI costs), so we didn’t see a lot of their relationship and how it naturally deteriorated.

The actor got into some trouble (was just cleared recently), so his face got AI swapped with a different actor in this drama and other drama(s).

Uhh 😬 It was a little bit after FL walked out with a box 📦 other stuff, but I don’t remember if it’s in ep. 3 or 4 that she got fired. Ep. 4, I think? 🤔

Haha… they actually didn’t show the screen this time. But I can only guess that it’s about FL connection to ML. Maybe we’ll find out in episode 5 when/if FL meets her. But, realistically speaking, it does raise flags if analyst of one company lives/has relationship with boss of a competitor.

I wonder what message Fang Yan saw on her phone. Maybe it was the picture of the leads together in the car 🚗.

I understand the feeling. But I will forgive bad AI as long as a drama is released and not shelved :)

Historical dramas generally have a higher budget so face replacement here was probably done on a shoestring budget 😳

Does anyone else think that the ex was put in the CFO position in large part of be a scapegoat for the troubles that company is going to encounter after their IPO? Now, maybe the daughter really does like him and it’s her dad’s plan, but it’s clear something is shady.
