Well… for now I’d recommend finishing Season 1 of FP; then watching Youthful Glory (like less angsty version of Prisoner of Beauty), and then moving to Are You the One (in that order because AYtO is the best of all of them). BTW, I see you’ve watched Hidden Love and When I Fly Towards You, so hopefully you have time for The First Frost (all 3 have same author and, as you probably know, TFF is a story with characters from HL, but it restores original novel’s age gap between HL couple). TFF is not as light and fluffy as WIFTY and HL (but still a good mix of romance, comedy and drama) but it’s so, so good. The last two episodes are a master class on how to properly end a drama (which, seemingly, is a weakness of C-drama writers, lol). In K-drama land I’d highly recommend Love Scout if you enjoy adult romance (leads are in 30s, I think). After the first episode or two, it picks up steam and doesn’t stop. ML in Love Scout is one of the greenest flags ever and comments on Viki were going wild 😊

Haha… maybe make a good use of fast-forward button? But, to give you an idea, I’m on Ep. 17 and things are still angsty.

At the end of Ep. 13 she already regained most of her lost power and is at Core Formation stage (although Early tier). So she’s recovered but not fully.

People were looking forward to Season 2 because there was a good progression in the relationship between the leads (you haven’t seen everything yet). But for Season 2 instead of going forward, it’s sidetracks and backtracks. Honestly, they could’ve made this a 40-episode single-season drama by combining both seasons.

I only watched Ep. 15 of the remake to see how they handled the accidental romance in drama’s Ep. 12 (turns out, almost the same except a kiss instead of a hug). But I did have to do a double-take when watching the intro because I thought it was scanned version of Yang Yang. Animated Han Li looks very close to Yang Yang’s Han Li.

Han Li’s response after Chen started chasing him — “I should have given her more pills” 💊 🥶 No time for the ladies 🤣

Wow! They need to do full high-res 3D scans of all the drama actors quickly. Then in 5-10 years they can just plug them into animation software and do re-remake that’s a cross between donghua and live action, lol

The leads are very lovely as is the rest of the cast (I even appreciate the crazy evil princess, lol). But what most viewers had hoped for is for ML & FL to get togethe, be a couple and solve problems together (political and business issues). The screenwriters had other plans 😔😞😢

Interesting, thanks! I’m half-convinced the Chen lady is in the story simply to serve as a test subject for Han Li’s Oblivion Pills 💊 😆

The real title is “Demon Strikes, War Begins”. It looks to be a trailer for events in the second half of the series. I’m sure experts here can offer more insight.

Season 2 requires more patience. It’s similar to Season 1 but it starts to drag and test our patience when it comes to relationship between the leads. I’ve watched Episodes 1-10 on release and now slowly going through the rest (up to 17 now). Honestly, season 2 makes me appreciate “Are You the One” even more. It’s a great example of how both ML & FL can be very smart/talented, care for each other and manage to avoid typical drama tropes.

“Main Role” versus “Support Role” is something that MDL decides, I think. When this drama first started airing, they only had Yang Yang and Gina Jen as the leads but then others got added as Main Cast even when it didn’t make sense. In actuality, they probably just need to put YY as Main and others as Support :)

How is donghua remake numbered? Events of early part of Ep. 12 are told in Ep. 15 of “Remake” (see link), so curious why in original donghua it’s Ep. 129.

Is she really pining for him? It feels like she’s more annoyed that she’d let something like that happen which is a completely understandable reaction. “Pining” is more applicable to a lot of other female characters who are chasing/chased ML (the latest being Chen girl who he saved).
