Yes, I understand that it was the screenwriter who had a HE in mind. Novels change a lot when they are being adopted, so even if the novel was finished, the plot and ending may have been different. I totally get your point about the ending, but I’d argue the lead-up to it was not executed very well, was rushed and that’s part of a reason why it felt flat.

Sorry, I’m also eagerly waiting for this drama and for WCR to claim the title of Queen of Fireworks [-named dramas] 😆

When I asked a general question about whether the vial will be explained later on, someone did spoil it a bit, but I don’t understand the mechanics of it so will not worry about it for now :)

To me it feels like ML is usually too busy trying to not die or to survive, so he doesn’t really think about romance. He’s vastly under-powered in his sect, so he’s spending all his time on finding ways to make pills, learning new skills and cultivating. The main person he’s had a connection so far is MO’s 3rd daughter but she’s not a cultivator and he couldn’t start a relationship with her. But… we will see how he behaves after events of Ep. 12 :)

We were told that girl’s family has a LOT of Foundation Pills, so she can get her hands on more.

What gathering? The FL (played by Gina Jin) was at the “sorting hat” ceremony and at the “hunger games” (being vague to avoid spoilers).

Oh, didn’t know about Wanted Detective. Looks interesting and it’s an original IP so no one can spoil anything 😆

Also check out BTS video. They tried to shoot in real locations so it cost them more. And they probably had to spend a lot of money on actors due to needing a huge cast.

I think they spent more money on battles/fights. Ep. 11 was very nice (ep. 1 opening scene — not so much). But the story and action is very enjoyable so I’m willing to focus on that and forget about CGI :)

If you have something else to watch, no need to rush and start this. Come back later and take a glance at the comments. But I’d say it’s surprisingly good so far :)

The hero her doesn’t kill just to get items/loot. He’s pretty much defending himself/protecting others. FYI, he’s not immortal at this point — he’s at the very bottom level on his journey. Obtaining items (found, bought, looted) helps him survive — he’s not at strong as most other people so that’s why he needs some help (weapons, talismans, pills). Just think of this as a video game — you are a Level 1 character surrounded by higher-level enemies, so you need to gather resources, level up, and be smart about picking when to fight and when to run.

I don’t know an answer to that but ML is acting like a proper video game character by getting all the loot he can :)

In a vacuum any ending (even sad or bittersweet) would have been fine. The ending we got was kind of meh, and the reason many people felt that way is because of a 180-degree turn the drama took in the last episode or two (forget exact details). Drama writer said original ending was HE so that’s what all episodes were leading up to. But then iQIYI stepped in and made them change it (speculated it’s possibly for budget reasons of not wanting to pay for CGI in Carefree Land). That left drama team with no screen time to justify the ending. I forgot the details but what was striking is how they completely changed ML character and made him so uncharacteristic things just to try to get to the ending. So the problem for many viewers wasn’t the ending itself but the drastic change in direction and poor execution at the end. And even if iQIYI wanted to set up season 2 without spending a lot of money, they could’ve filmed a 15-30 second scene showing/telling us there might be another way to travel between worlds (found 2nd travel device; found way to repair/redore 1st device; etc.).

They probably will find a good place to stop. But for sheer chaos I want the last scene to be Yang Yang waking up next to Dilraba, saying “what a weird dream”, and firing up Honor of Kings 😈🤣

One way to look at it — being immortal doesn’t make you good. Even Greek and Roman gods did some very, very bad things.

YOUKU could’ve probably made some nice $$$ for early access to Ep. 12 (just watch the preview 🫣), lol

Don’t forget looting! And his Luck must be at maximum level because he gets legendary drops too 😆
