I’m pretty sure I vented in the comments there but if they didn’t want to spend money on CGI, they could’ve still had a satisfying open-ending by someone finding a way to fix travel gizmo or locating a second one. As-is, the ending was not happy, not sad, and not really open. It was just meh 🫤. Almost everything before that was very good and writers managed to avoid a lot of tropes/cliches, so maybe we need a memory wipe to forget the last episode.

Nothing has been said so far about potential Season 2. Maybe as we get further into the story, experts will be able to figure out if this drama can fit entire novel / donghua.

This drama is literally made by the same team who is making animated version (donghua) while working with the author. Many commenters here read the novel and/or watched donghua and they never said anything about “liberties” or “fan fiction” 🤨

It gets really good starting with Episode 3. First two episodes are kind of setting up the story and hero’s beginning steps.

That’s what someone else said. But we don’t know what changes the drama will make compared to the novel and donghua. Drama comes from the same team as donghua (who are huge fans) but commenters noted that dramas usually don’t have harems (possibly due to censorship).
