Are You The One is great! It’s slightly lighter in tone than Peony but it has great chemistry between leads and possibly most reasonable characters (unlike most other dramas, they make smart decisions).

Are we really supposed to believe that a near-genius level person could not think of a better revenge plan than to simply beat up the bad guy in front of hundreds of witnesses? Given how arrogant the bad guy is, it’d not take too long to dig up a lot of dirt on him, ruin his reputation, put him in jail or else. Just puzzling writing (not sure if it was like that in the novels or if this was made up for the drama).

Events of Episode 22 (and preceding Ep. 20-21) are kind of ridiculous even by drama standards 🙄 (continued below in spoiler)

L&P is good so far (on ep. 18) but I’m really curious what happened and can’t wait for return to present day :) P.S. Have you watched “Fake It Till You Make It”? It’s a great drama about adult relationships (kind of like TFF but without so much emotional trauma). Silly name but really good and relatively short by C-drama standards.

Personally, I prefer pairing in TFF or When I Fly Towards You (same author as HL & TFF) so I understand you :)

Yes, thank you for the correction. TFF commenters were wrong about timing. Although, the author has continued to release HL content after original HL novel and TFF novel.

This drama works best if you enjoy the lead pair. But that’s a highly subjective thing.

To be fair though, I see that the author released HL Volumes 2-7 in 2022-2024. Maybe that’s what caused this confusion.

Yes, watching HL isn’t necessary to enjoy TFF and the other way around. Other than the wedding, other things are more like Easter eggs for fans :) It was interesting to see discussions in real time as TFF was being released

When I Fly Towards You is also great and it is from the same author as Hidden Love and The First Frost. Would highly recommend!

In both source novels and TFF drama, age difference is 7-8 years. Only HL drama reduced it to 5…

Author of both novels is the same. TFF novel was released first. Then came HL novel. Both novels had 7-8 year difference between SZ & DJX. Then HL drama came out and changed difference to 5 years. Now TFF drama came out and it uses 7-8 year difference from the novels so it cannot match up HL drama timeline the same.
Still, the biggest intersection between the two dramas is probably the wedding of SY/DJX’s friend. It is prominently featured in both dramas. There are still some other callbacks in TFF (like SY saying he has to go to Yihe and complaining about SZ’s “old boyfriend”)

You may know this already but keep in mind that HL drama decreased age difference between SZ & DJX. TFF the novel, TFF the drama, and HL the novel all have 7-8 years instead of 5 shown in HL the drama. This has confused some people who watched HL first and then started to watch TFF.
P.S. TFF the drama is great!

Has Zhu Yi, the author of the novels, offered any insights on this? “The First Frost” novel (came out 1st) and “Hidden Love” novel (came out 2nd) have 7-8 year difference between Sang Zhi and Duan Jiaxu. “The First Frost” drama also follows the novels. Only “Hidden Love” drama changed it to 5 years. Someone in TFF comments mentioned it was done to appease the government but I don’t know for sure.

The last episode (ep. 12) is so good. An hour plus of feel good moments and letting viewers enjoy the characters.

There are trolls who have nothing better to do than to try to start a war between fans of different dramas or different actor/actress (and those trolls are often not a fan of either of the two parties). This happens here on MDL and on the social media/online platforms in general. The best thing we can do is to block & ignore them. TFF and TBT are both nice dramas and can peacefully coexist in the world :)

General consensus seems to be that fans of TFF would enjoy The Best Thing (and the other way around). I’ve watched both and like TFF slightly better but TBT is also very good.

I’ve watched both TFF and TBT in realtime and I thought fans of both shows overlapped and/or were nice to the other show. Trolls are everywhere so let’s avoid them and get along.

The Best Thing is pretty nice and just finished airing. It’s maybe a bit lighter in tone but it does have some issues for FL to overcome. People rate is pretty highly here.

To add to what others wrote: others do call her “Shuangjiang” (like nickname) but only ML has called her Wen Shuangjiang (like full name).
