Releasing four at a time is a bit strange but, if you consider other dramas, Netflix is doing okay by staying same or slightly behind YOUKU VIP. Sometimes the delays are longer (1-2 weeks) for Netflix & Viki compared to Tencent (WeTV) & YOUKU.

The most hilarious thing is that this isnāt even a slow-burn drama. In most K- or C-dramas leads donāt get together until second half of the show (or even the very end). Here with every episode we see ML & FL grow closer and the pacing is pretty normal.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply! I agree with your point and that is why I thought that perhaps the original novel offered some sort of an explanation. As it is though, not explaining this is just one of the multiple instances when writers were kind of lazy (so, so many needless tropes here). The space industry aspect was shown a lot better in You Are My Glory (much healthier relationship between ML & FL too). And in that one the ML helps with unique rovers and probes instead of launching 55th Beidu satellite š°ļø :)

His role is, hopefully, to help kickstart the relationship between ML & FL and to show FL (and us) how much ML liked her in high school & the tricks he pulled (because Mu is doing the same tricks and saying similar things).
Does the novel explain why ML had to join Navigation Academy (research institute, presumably) at that exact time and could not wait? This is a very important plot point but drama writers did not bother explaining it.
The professor told ML he would not get another chance but it seems highly unrealistic. It is a government that is not well-paid so why would they not let a qualified specialist to join later or have an interview another time (next year or whenever hiring cycle happens).

After that gaming-related introduction in 2009, they fast-forward to 2024 and now it is more of a comedic office romance drama. Not sure if they will do flashbacks to 2009.
