Yes, some people in the comments here have expressed that. I think it may turn out she had a crush on him long ago but was forced/chose to marry his brother because he was crown prince… maybe that’s why ML tried to interfere before the wedding — he knew she didn’t love him. But that’s just speculation. Unlike daily C-dramas, we have 5 days to come up with wild speculations 🤣

Thanks! I’ve somehow not watched any Republic era dramas yet except Love Between Lines which doesn’t really count (since it was a virtual world, lol). I prefer dramas with HE or positive OE… hard to invest 20-40 hours to watch something with a bad/sad ending 🥺

Most MDL people probably will recognize it as a song from Go Go Squid. It’s played a lot in that drama.

Maybe you wait closer to the end to figure out if the plot stays interesting? It’s been very good so far though.

She’s clearly meant to be 2 & 3. I don’t understand how we are meant to think that she’s good (1). The last item (4) is just some people shipping her with ML for some reason 🙄but may others don’t see it.

The government (prime minister + cabinet) runs the country while royals just perform ceremonial duties just like it’s done in the UK. But 2ML (prime minister) has too much spare time for sure, not like a typical official 😁

I agree. Although I think HDY did a great job of making us care about all the side characters even though they aren’t real. I probably cared more about their fates compared to majority of other drama with “real” characters 😳

Don’t dramas tend to tone down red flag-ness of characters? So I’d think his character here would be more positive.

At this rate, looks like next WCR drama will be “Hidden Shadow” instead of this one.

This drama isn’t based on his original script (it has a source novel), so maybe we will not need a box of tissues, lol

Unlike those other dramas, GJM didn’t write an original script here because it has a source novel. Not to say it’s not going to be good, but just it’s not fully his creation.

GJM is the director of this drama (his Chinese initials). But it’s not exactly correct to call it “GJM drama” because that applies to dramas he had written & directed (like Veil of Shadows, Fangs of Fortune, etc.). Whereas this drama isn’t his original script and has a source novel instead.

Yes! I think such reviews / comments are just purely a troll job or rage baiting. I’ve started to block those accounts to make my comments page more peaceful 😁

A lot of that is just trolls or rage-baiting. I’ve blocked multiple accounts like that and not my comments feed is much more peaceful ☺️

Multiple characters die in “How Dare You” although it’s not as romcom-y like this drama.

You are welcome! Even my friends and I have different tastes, so no need to worry. As long as a person gives a reasonable explanation and doesn’t say something silly, it’s all good. For example, there was one comment here which said that IU is a bad actor and a bad singer. That person is clearly a troll 🙄

She is trying to find dirt on ML in order to destroy his reputation and/or find leverage to control him. It actually makes sense :)
