I think many of AI concerns proved to be incorrect but that’s just my impression of skimming comments periodically. The real baby in the show is very though 😊

Have you watched Love Scout? It’s from early 2025 and has much better approach to adult dating compared to Positively Yours.

Right, that’s my point exactly — Destined with You was a mess despite very good cast and other things going for them 😢

Oh, and to address one more item in your comment — I personally find that oftentimes K-drama writers get way too ambitious and try to have way too many plot lines. So instead of doing 1-2 good plot lines, we end up with 6-7 mediocre plot lines. “Destined with You” is a good example — instead of focusing just on the leads and their historical connections, there’s a lot of other things going on distract us.
Sigh… sorry for writing so much, but I felt this was a good opportunity to vent my frustrations 😳🥺😤

You are welcome! So far, ep. 1-4 have been surprisingly good as very few people had high expectations. So if the rest of the show continues to be good, it may be a pleasant surprise. But we all know how K- & C-drama writers like to mess things up so there’s no guarantee 😳🫣

Ignore the comments. If you are over the age of 25-30 and don’t mind dramas that make you think, I think you will definitely enjoy Can This Love be Translated. It’s a drama for more mature, adult people who have had some life experiences. The leads (and other characters) are imperfect people who have flaws and have different personalities/communication types — they are trying to connect with others and overcome interpersonal communication issues. So “translation” in the title isn’t so much a literal translation but rather refers to understanding each others love language and communication types (for example, if you are a more reserved individual and your loved one is more vocal & expressive).
And, without going into spoilers, the multiple characters played by Go Youn Jung should earn her more awards… which may or may not be a good thing because she’s pretty shy and doesn’t like attending award shows 😳

Like, I didn’t think that “Can This Love be Translated?” was the best K-drama ever (it was very good though), but it makes Positively Yours seem like it was written by the baby from Our Universe, 😆

Relatively little time is spent on pregnant-by-chaebol plot and their relationship (unlike Fated to Love You). A lot of other things get in a way, like 2ML or ML’s sister in law who is somehow super influential and is mad at ML because ML’s brother/her husband died while on a climbing trip with ML. Oh, and ML can’t shake hands and has psychological issues because of that climbing accident (his brother cut the rope and let go of ML’s hand to avoid both of them dying).
Honestly, we’d never know FL was pregnant except for the fact that she works at a beer company so she can’t drink anymore.

The plot & writing are not good; way, way too much time is spent on 2ML who has no chance with FL (I’d say there’s more FL+2ML then FL+ML); and things are just illogical (and not in a good way). It also differs a lot from manhwa, apparently.

It’s not good. It takes a lot for a K-drama with pretty popular actors to be rated at 7.3 on MDL. Not that MDL ratings are always reliable, but they are a pretty good indicator in this case 🙄

Definitely do NOT start this. I didn’t read the manhwa, so I can objectively say this drama is not good. It’s way worse than Dynamite Kiss or Would You Marry Me (to name a couple recent romcoms).
An interesting ongoing romantic K-drama is Our Universe but only 4 of 12 episodes are out (Wednesday & Thursday we will have episodes 5 & 6).

It’s #1 on Viki too, although Viki’s Top 20 isn’t an indicator of quality — #2 is Positively Yours 🙄🫣

This is one of those dramas, where love triangle makes sense. FL & ML live together & raise the baby due to special circumstances and not because they like each other (matter of fact, they dislike each other after their initial encounter). And 2ML & FL are each other’s first loves and still have feelings for each other. So this is not an example of a silly love triangle like in Positively Yours or Dynamite Kiss; in those dramas it was very clear from the start that 2ML had no chance at all.

This drama becomes better & better with each episode but it’s so full of heartbreaking stories 😢

Or, at least, “oppa” 🙄

We can only hope the actors got paid well to do this 🙄

Sigh… sometimes even great actors have projects that end up badly. I think we all would agree that Shin Hae Sun is a very good & popular actress, but she was somehow talked into doing Dear Hyeri which has 7.1 MDL rating and it’s a drama we are all pretending doesn’t exist 🙄🫣

Some people dislike just how much was changed from the source manhwa but, even without that, the drama is very average (and maybe even below average) in its plot & writing. Very sad to see given pretty good cast.
