Apparently Thai audience actually likes the formulaic bls. They want green flags and feel good stories. And gmmtv plays it safe, they know their market and gives it what they want. And apparently a lot of their shows are popular with the audience.
I cant relate to the school boy bls (im not in high school), but with gmmtv the adult bls are worse. You have grown ups behaving like coy teenagers and it cloys. They create a show about grownups and then spend a couple of episodes where they take care of a cat. Its like they have run out of a storyline and its fan service and getting the actors to look cute. Look at what they did to Only friends S2.
I tend to avoid Thai bls that are driven by fan service and look more at smaller studios, unknown actors, interesting plots. They are more rare.

Thanks for response. I haven't noticed these inconsistencies as I shut my brain off and dont pay too much attention to details (Its best that way), I also tend to watch at over 1.5 x speed so I miss a lot. Also i have not watched the last episode.
Because its a Thai bl (low budget, focus on pretty faces) i adjust my quality standards and expectations of convincing acting. I find it hard to tell if a Thai bl production is really bad because there is so much I have to overlook. The clothing choices is one of those things - i cant tell if a thai bl actor is particularly badly dressed anymore. Sadly Im finding items like those fuck ass shorts look almost normal in the thai bl actors wardrobe.
I usually drop the drama if its too gmmtv formulaic and/or aimed at teenagers. I had to drop Crazy Love MooMoo because of the loud sound effects they felt they needed to insert all over the place.

I would add that some ABO writers are flexible - about the rules of the ABO universe so some things can change. In some stories you can have operations to reverse bonding.
