He has been caught lying about tax shelters, and trying to evade paying tax - so it will be interesting to see…
Your posts and defence of the actor have no relevance to the facts of the case. They dont change the FACTS about the case reported by the press which is that the NTS interpretation and decision about his shell companies. They found him to owe more tax then he declared. Im pretty sure you dont know Korean tax law, or are privy to the data the NTS has to have reached an opinion that he needs to pay up.
I have not argued about his innocent or guilt. Or even his right to challenge the NTS decision. The only value judgement i make is that IF he avoided tax then he should shut up and pay like everyone else does. Or do you think only poor people should pay tax.?
I am making a value judgment about the parasocial fans who ignore facts and argue he is innocent and who suddenly are all experts in korean tax law and shell companies. And that includes you. Its up to the court to decide and they wont base it on your personal opinion of the actor. So stop arguing that he is innocent. ITS NOT FOR YOU TO DECIDE
And dont waste my time making shit up about what i have said, or about your knowledge of his innocent and korean tax law.
He has been caught lying about tax shelters, and trying to evade paying tax - so it will be interesting to see…
There is no tripping up. I ONLY reported and stated facts - unlike you. It has in fact been WIDELY reported that he operated shell companies to avoid tax. That is also the conclusion of the NTS.
He has been fined by Korean National Tax Service. He is disputing the decision reached by the NTS.
I get that your are a big big parasociall fan, and that you dont like facts to get in the way of your argument. Its also pretty desperate and dishonest to put words in my mouth - and jump to conclusions, Its what i expect from a typical parasocial fan.
This is a summary from a search I have done for your benefit, and there are many sources to back it up.
""Cha Eun-woo is at the center of a major tax controversy involving an alleged "paper company" (shell company) registered under his mother’s name, widely identified as Cha’s Gallery. The South Korea National Tax Service (NTS) alleges that this entity was used to channel the singer-actor’s entertainment income through lower corporate tax rates rather than higher personal income tax brackets, resulting in an alleged 20 billion won ($13.7 million) shortfall""
Go argue with the NTS and DONT WASTE ME TIME. It is his right to challenge that decision they reached. Im sure NTS are waiting for your input and interpretation of Korean tax law and how it doesn't affect this particular actor.
He has done exactly what is appropriate in this situation. He paid the taxes the government believes he owes,…

True he has every right to challenge a decision. It does not mean he is innocent or guilty because he has paid the outstanding taxes and fines. (although it was reported he that he had set up dummy companies and structure s to evade tax)
The law decides if he is guilty - not his MDL fans based on their parasocial relationship, and who have zero knowledge of korean tax and legal issues involved.
If he has already paid he should have quietly let the matter close..what's the point of suing the tax service…
He has been caught lying about tax shelters, and trying to evade paying tax - so it will be interesting to see the outcome. Its like opening he is opening a can of worms again and i dont know if its wise. But he has every right to challenge a ruling.
Ignore these idiots arguing that he is not guilty or is guilty. They dont know the law, If they have an problem when someone rich and pretty has to pay tax well let them use their money to pay off. his tax - i know the korean citizens arent happy when the rich think they have rights to evade tax.
so will you give up couple months of your salary ?
Maybe as a fans you should get give up your salary and help him pay his taxes, or do you think less wealthy koreans should pay his tax burden. They are not happy about that.
He has every right to challenge a decision. - but if its owed then he pays up.- its kind of the law. dont you think.
Being a rich celebrity doesn't mean you dont pay tax - as he has found out. And dont forget he was caught lying about tax shelters and companies set up for purpose of tax evasion.

No prob. I enjoy discussing and debating. That is the point of a review. And the comment section. There is no right and wrong as its all subjective -- especially as we are generally not trained critics.
lol person who reviewed this is so up their ass.Likes to "critique" but does not like it when their own…
I dont find fault with your rating. I have it at 8.5 but may lower it to 8 .
Its more not you not wanting to discuss your review. You may be technically correct even about the logic (contract, flight) but its the fixation on these minor issues and if you apply them to all dramas consistently then there is very few (esp thai bl) you can enjoy.
I can agree with many points you brought up here. But some decisions are made because they are following the actual story. The saying damned if they do, and damned if they dont. I didnt particularly enjoy the rape angle but thats the story and i dont know if i should rate the drama based on how they produced it or if just didnt like the story as it made me uncomfortable. Its a fine line for me but when its based on manwha/book, i tend to ignore my feelings about the story.
I read the Manhw a while back and have a bad memory so i stand open to correction.
Re Sunny rape - Sunny was leading naïve wanna be actors into a rape dens where they were tortured and raped. In the Manhwa I think he ended up having to pimp himself because he got into debt with loan sharks. I think this is his only option of paying his debt. I didnt think he was being raped.
But there are many reasons to critique this drama. Re revenge with Jay again i think they followed the Manhwa. I dont know how much they would be allowed to rewrite or change the story.
It's funny that you wrote an entire paragraph trying to prove the finale is "ridiculous" because of airline…
lol person who reviewed this is so up their ass. Likes to "critique" but does not like it when their own reviews are critiqued for lack of logic and common sense. And then like a petulant child dares you not to read the review and storms off. This made me want to comment here.
He talks about logic but its obvious that he doesn't understand basic maths because dividing a cake into 12 pieces instead of 10, doesn't make it bigger. They may only have had a budget for specified number of hours or told by studio network /advertisers it had to be 10 episodes .
But imagine complaining about the contracts and legal procedures for transfer of shares. Maybe the director should have focused on these very specific legal details, and dedicated time for contract law .legal proceedings of share transfer (that followed or will follow) and added a link where we could carefully read and UNDERSTAND share transfer procedures - because we bl fans are more vested in this issue than watching two hot guys make out.
Its a novel and manhwa which is not realistic, its fiction, it relies on suspending reality to tell a story. And it does not have to waste time and get into detail to explain the logic of contracts and share transfer law (we can assume its correct because its fiction) or the air flight schedules. And any story is going to be adapted to suit the media (sometimes investor requirements) so things may change a bit. Or they may gloss over finer legal details and flight schedules to make show run more smoothly.
I have my issues about the show and it could have done some things better, but it was excellent because it made the fans happy, and entertained them and told a really compelling story. For this, it achieved much more than most bls.
This type of review, and the moral one ( i watched the whole show so i can be outraged and complain about the immoral nc scenes), annoy me. I have issues with how the show was edited,
Are his lips real? They definitely seem natural! they dont give off the fake botox look and have those natural…
I also suspect the actor in Payback (sun) did something to his lips. In some shots there are darker lines or bleeding above is upper lips. Its prevalent in the industry that they get surgery and do some tweaks- that can take your face from a 8 to a 10.
I cant tell if this actor Ongsa has had anything done but his looks are extraordinary - his features are soo perfect that its hard to believe he is all natural. PS not saying he has anything done. But im more impressed with his acting than his looks.
LITERALLY, nowadays bl are overly lustful and the other one trying so hard to dominant and the scenes being all…
i dont mind lustful if it has sincerity and is done well. But most times its desperately trying too hard ie: a combination of the plot is weak lets do lust to get viewers , and then the lust is not done well
Ok lol its almost like people here dont seem to understand basic maths.
Would you rather have 12 episodes of 45 minutes or 10 episodes where most episodes are over an hour?
Also a good show leaves you wanting more, not boring you to death for dragging things out. They got it right. They have done a good job with this series given the length, the story, and budget.
I see so many comments saying we won’t get the revenge plot or wondering how they can fit everything into the…
lol its almost like people here dont seem to understand basic maths.
Im glad we are getting 10 episodes that are longer instead of the usual 12 episodes that are like 45 minutes long. The size of the cake v not how many pieces are sliced argument
Like you said. Most times less is more. The better series have substance instead of drawing things out to fill up the time.
Does that mean people created new accounts to upvote their favoured cp?
MDL ratings are a farce and inflated anyway. The are driven by cp fans rather than substance of a show.
To be honest i think its ridiculous that people are reviewing and rating the series after one episode and even before its complete. The Next Prince had over 6 pages of reviews by new accounts just after the first episode - and they all gave it a perfect 10 for everything.
I wish MDL was more transparent with ratings because they dont make mathematical sense. "Between Us" is rated 7.8 but the breakdown shows above 8 score for everything.
i just finished watching episodes 1 & 2. i felt the same way as you did before starting it. it was a WTH?…
I wasnt going to bother but read your post i started watching this and its cute. I may stop at ep1 and wait until its completed. I read manhwas (havent read this one ) so it felt typical - no wtf moments from me. I think its good and doesnt take itself too seriously. Its also different from typical bl dramas and i like that.
