i think for most people bls are about romance and the main couple first. And then the story.

I think that it would have been more impactful if it was directed differently - if he had tried not to cry(holding in tears) in front of his love interest but cried and fell apart when he was alone.

its annoying when bl series make women the idiot for falling for a man who is gay. And they tend to make them a figure of hate as the women usually never accept the man is gay. so they continue pursuing ml and harass and plot against the mc.

I think in reality most woman would back off - be disappointed which is understandable, but accepting as there is not much you can do if your crush is is gay.

Im getting bored on the GMM type series that is derivative, filled with tropes, and uses the same of formula.
Just finished watching On Cloud Nine and looking for similar type series that are more original and offer a more meaningful story.

lol - I really wanted and tried to like it - i even like the actors but i couldnt continue to watch it. Im just left bewildered at the ratings and wondering if they are smoking something else.

I think its part of a herd mentality.
We are influenced by others and jump on to this bandwagon and brainwash ourselves. Otherwise we would be missing out or lonely.

I enjoy it but its not as engaging for me as My stand in or Only friends.

Im with you there as well. Most shows are becoming derivative -same old tropes with diff actors. I have watched to many now and I get embarrassed when i see grown men tending to wounds, patting each other on the head or talking in baby voices thinking its cute. (particularly GMM)

not a problem - its good to have discussions. They dont have a monopoly on what can be posted.

Shine is objectively better quality, but harder to watch - ie takes more mental effort. This show is easier to gulp down - like eating fast food. At least for me.
I have put Shine on hold for now as I want to watch it when Im in the mood.

People say they dont want GMM type shows but those are the shows that are more popular unfortunately.
