Like both cases the ML did some god awful thing - and in both cases the FL at least needed some time (months) to process things and make decisions - but nope a couple of "I'm sorry" later (and other folks in the series encouraging them to forgive) and it's all good. So recently there's been this trend with both K and C dramas where the ML will do the most HORRENDOUS thing to the FL and she's expected to forgive (and does) in a few episodes. And I can't help but think at this point it's some weird sort of propaganda to remind women of their "place".

I'm not gonna lie. After the shock of the confession I was chuckling at how absurd he looked standing there with a knife in his chest giving a speech. SMH. 2nd season they were like we're gonna give ya'll ALL the drama tropes Chinese AND Korea. lol/smh

This was me. I had a permanent "WTF" face" and all I kept saying was "I Can't Believe This Sh*t". SMH.

My man didn't even say "My Bad". Like how I'm supposed to forgive that and let it go. I don't get he point to this. Mudan the Saint I guess.

I thought what we were going to find out was that she was that dudes kid - not that he poisoned her - and (plot twist) her dad was the bad guy. That would have at least been forgivable.

And think about it. The writers chose the most UNFORGIVABLE thing imaginable. lol. Like sat down was like....you know what this story needs, something so awful only a saint could forgive it. I guess Mudan is a saint and a martyr and a punching bag and at this point this season is on some Imperial Doctress level of BS. lol/smh

I just watched AND I'm done. I don't think I've ever seen writers squander good will like this. INSANE.

They are gonna be together b/c they want Mudan to suffer. Mudan finds out her mother was poisoned by the guy who keeps the orphans from the first season and JCY knew the whole time. And won't allow her to kill him.

It is very clear who is right and who is wrong and in a non-scripted world there is NO forgiving that.

It's confirmed. The writers hate us. 'Cause there is no forgiving that and I don't even want them together at this point. Sigh.

I mean there's nothing burning at this point. Just angst. And it's 43 episodes in. Makes no sense.

Yes. And it's still lazy writing. The plot works and works better if they are happily together and all this stuff happens. Now it's just misery for everyone all the time.
