You're right! — Actually, I saw them in 1st place but didn't realize what they were for.
He used strings like a spider to make himself levitate and move in the blink of an eye.

Mirages could be the cause, but how did Pu Ying see him in Heisong's post? (He never saw him before)

I totally agree with you. That tracheostomy was on my mind the whole time — because as Ban Cha pointed out (and we also saw it ourselves), the water wasn't deep, so there's no way he'd get wet while riding in the palanquin. So option b is the more likely explanation.

I get what you mean about different audiences. Tastes vary, and it's not fair to judge a show (or people) just by looks.
As a young viewer who started watching C-dramas about a year ago, I have to say this drama wasn't really my favorite either — for many reasons like the slow pacing and the overall color tone (yellows and browns really bother me, even in a French film like Amélie). But I have to admit the attention to detail was incredible — from the styling and sets to the regional dialect. Same with the acting and the music that perfectly matched the region.
I struggled through the first 3 episodes, but after that I genuinely enjoyed it, and the last 2 episodes were absolutely amazing.
Still not my top pick, but I'm really glad I watched it. And I think it's one of the best in its genre (wuxia).

That's really interesting about the legend — I didn't know that! Thanks for explaining — really appreciate it.

Does anyone know why "the crippled guy" couldn't cross the river? He said he had never crossed water and wouldn't cross one in the future.
And what were those balloons/lanterns? around his palanquin that the slaves were carrying him in? They blew into them and made the fire stronger — was he feeling cold because of his condition, even in that scorching weather?!

Both are adapted from the same novel and follow the same storyline, just different formats. So, you don't need…
Thank you:))

I watched this drama out of curiosity, but it wasn't worth my time...
The dancing and songs were really good, and the actors/actresses gave great performances, but the storyline was too slow-paced for me😕

Too many clichés and too slow-paced for me.
It was on my watchlist for about 3 years, and I finally started watching it mostly because of So Ji-sub.
To be honest, it was a fine drama for its period, and I really enjoyed the backstory of the ghosts.
I think the drama should've ended after they caught the culprit — the last three episodes were just extras, full of clichés and nonsense 🙄
But after all, as I always say, taste is subjective :)

What? Watching Epi 8 ... (Killing him is far from reality) Did he, Terius, dies ? The hero is dead?
Haha, now I see what you mean! He's giving that effortless 'masculine yet elegant' energy — very Yibo-coded.

How about Kim Sang Ryeol? I know he's already married, but they shared a nose kiss together (E32) 😂

Yeah I get you but maybe it wasn't that important either for writers to focus on 🤔

Guess what! This is supposed to be a happy ending drama — K-dramas have proven that they never spoil the big moments or deaths in previews.

Fair point, but honestly with films like this — especially the ones adapted from webtoons or novels — you really can't expect much logic. Just chill out and enjoy the action and comedy :)
