What an incredible series! It easily deserves a rating higher than 8.5, as the storyline, performances, and cinematography are flawless. Yang Zi delivers another phenomenal performance, solidifying her status as a top-tier actress. The emotional family dynamics involving Li Zhen, her grandmother, and her grandfather were deeply moving and brought me to tears. I also loved the evolution of Li Zhen's relationship with her uncle, Li Jingdong, shifting beautifully from rivals to him becoming her ultimate support system. Though the male lead's character frustrates me, the actor himself did a great job and looks fantastic in historical attire. His quest for family revenge is continually foiled because his enemies constantly outsmart him, and despite serving under a general, his combat skills are weak. Ultimately, this show is a must-watch. In my opinion, Yang Zi and Zhao Lusi are currently the absolute best A-list actresses in the C-drama industry.
