As long as the last couple of episodes are as good as the rest, this one will make it to my list of favorites. I don’t get the ratings either. It’s a good show with romance, mystery, trauma and healthy adult communication with the leads.

Yeah shows like Glory or LitC that are based off of keeping secrets, lying, not communicating etc. drive me NUTS. I hate those tropes so much and drop dramas I started off liking because of them. I hope you like TPoB if you decide to watch :)

Thanks for the tip! I’ll add it to my list. I’m also going through My Dearest which is also incredibly heavy, so I will probably have to space out my emotionally heavy dramas lol.

OH. I missed that one on your list 😂 The other 10 I saw looked to be a concert or something. I have heard of When Life Gives you Tangerines, but haven’t seen it yet because I’m afraid of how it ends lol

Yeah. I wonder why they have changed the standard 16ep Kdramas. I am rating this one at a 10 because in my mind it’s perfect so far. We all have different tastes 😊

Which makes me sad, because this one is one of my favorite kdramas so far. I wish it was a bit longer than 12 episodes.

It’s funny because if you look at the individual episode ratings they’re almost ALL rated 9.5 and above 😂There’s like one episode that’s rated 9.1. I hope they MDL changes the whole rating system.

It drives me nuts when the SMLs sit on their feelings for years and years without making a move, but suddenly when there is competition they decide the FL is worth pursuing? It’s so insulting and selfish to the FL. That whole mentality of “if I can’t have her, no one else can” drives me nuts. Like no, Chungjae, you should have confessed and pursued her a long time ago. 😠

I did not like Glory or Love in the Clouds, but this one is my favorite drama of all time. The leads begin as enemies in an arranged marriage, so there is some scheming against each other in the beginning… but the trust and communication only grow from there. Jealous side characters? Yeah there are a couple of them, but but it doesn’t last forever and they never successfully sabotage the lead’s relationship. There are some instances of jealousy and the leads not communicating with each other later in the drama after the mutual affection is there, but it’s used for humor instead of angst 😂And then they eventually do talk. Plus, TPoB has two of the steamiest kisses / bed scenes in Asian dramas. The most frustrating part of this show, I guess, is the scheming villains who keep thinking they can outsmart / defeat the leads despite them consistently being outwitted by them 😂

I’ll push through this stretch even though I’m not a fan of this particular part. I guess I’ll see how they handle the resolution. Great show otherwise, I just feel a little let down by this turn of events.

So I am on 24… I’m really struggling with these common tropes of holding the kids responsible for the “sins” of their parents, parents negatively meddling in the love lives of their adult children and the whole breakup in general. Her dad just woke up and he made some comment about how he “would be too ashamed to face Mr. Han in heaven” and I took that to mean that he would be too ashamed if Hu Xiu continued to date Zhi Yu. It really makes me upset. And it makes me upset that she was so quick to break up with him right on the heels of telling him that her time with him was some of the happiest in her life (and her promises to work through things together). Well clearly you didn’t care about him enough and Zhi Yu doesn’t deserve all of this hate except for him keeping it a secret. But fuuuuuk, seeing how he was treated after his person and her family found out I’d have effing kept it a secret too. This is exactly why he didn’t tell anyone. /rant

I really hate the meddling parent trope… for parents to “force” their adult children to break up drives me crazy! I also hate it when the kids are blamed for the mistakes of their parents. If this is how it all goes down, I’m gonna be disappointed:/
