Should have ignored negative comments and watched this drama much earlier. It is a rare cops/murder mystery drama which I binged and finished, with the last episode wrapping up everything neatly. The mateship of the detective team is great. The 3 leads, 2 detectives and the fl reporter, teamed up well, with rare synchronised effort between police and the press in most part of the drama. Contrary to many here, the background, naturally done romance between the 2 leads added bit of sweetener to the otherwise, rather dry drama like many of the other pure thrillers. It is a rare one for those who enjoyed mixed genres dramas with some background romance.
100% agree. Way too many romcoms are trash. Rarely any good one. Agreed on those good romance ones you listed…
I just dont understand why so many on MDL now hate romance that much, especially those dramas with mixed genres. Of course there are many bad romance ones.

Those not on your list: mixed genres ones include Welcome 2 Life, Judge vs Judge, Feel Good to Die, You Are My Spring, Hospital Playlist, Face Me (not bad), jdrama Silent Truth, and romcoms like Another Miss Oh, Marriage Not Dating, Suspicious Partners, Doctors
With all due respect.. you MISSED the key plot of this dramaFL and ML fell in love , she was a good girl and demanded…
I am currently watching The Good Detective season 1 where absolutely zero mention about romance in tags. Yet every episode the 2 leads met, starting with misunderstanding then quickly helping/saving each others, then after mid episodes the ml detective kept seeing fl reporter with whatever reason, and confessed! One of the most natural love relationship development on dramas. So people are just turning blind eyes on what they don’t want to see.
Imo this drama is thriller and romance intertwined. The main driving plot is the love between ML and FL - mostly…

With thef final episode coming no point to make any guess now. A great drama, like a great movie, always have the climax at the end. This reminds of the great fun old movie The Mad Mad Mad World, where the suitcase of money finally found at the end of the movie, and then!!!
Probably too much to ask if this drama can follow up on the plotline development similar to a 2026 jdrama, a failed…
I just recalled what Park Hae Gang told Ha Ri after the fake wedding in episode 1, that he paid for a kiss but had only a fake one, so Ha Ri owed him one.
Writer and director nim please don't give us kdrama ending of two leads looking at each other in last scene and…
Probably too much to ask if this drama can follow up on the plotline development similar to a 2026 jdrama, a failed (fake) kiss in the beginning, a near kiss in middle, and a real one at the end!
The Husband drama just finished has romance tag but practically zero romance between the real husband and wife.…
Yes, the relationship side of The Husband is ridiculous. No drama should end as how it started, meaning there is no story at all. That's a great example of not trusting the tag. I just hope The Apartment Job can land it's ending, there are too many bad examples.

My simple definition of romance is there is non-platonic relationship growth between 2 leads in a drama. And quite often character growth is part of the equation. The Husband is a great thriller, full of twists and turns and no dragging like many other thrillers. But all sign of character growth in middle goes back to naught at the end, so no growth in relationship. It can be compared to the ml's One Dollar Lawyer where the same happened at the end. So only watch it as a pure thriller.
This is why one should never trust tags. You were telling me this show has no romance tag but their chemistry…
The Husband drama just finished has romance tag but practically zero romance between the real husband and wife. This one has no romance tag but cannot be disputed has many more times of 'romance' scenes bewteen the fake husband and wife.
Romance seems to be different to everyone so is it better to look at the storyline, what the director intended to show us so far? The 1st few episodes there are the fake kiss, the face to face proximity in the kid's playpen, and Ha Ri's crush after witnessing Hae Gang's saving the store keeper. It seems to show hints of what to come but no progress at all in mid drama. Then came episode 9 with all secrets reviewed, emotional confrontation and understandings finally achieved. It also seems Hae Gang moving towards a law abiding character to suit Ha Ri. Now the umbrella scene, plus Hae Gang's telling his dying 'father' that he choosed someone else (Ha R'si scene right after) , all seems to indicate the relationship progressed to a different stage. No idea about the ending just my interpretation.
Episode 9, what else can you say? It is everything you asked for, everything you want to see. The plotline moved so smoothly, and at the same time unexpectedly. It is inventive. Excellent job from the whole team. How can the fake family part way, and can't see how Hae Kang can let Ha Ri go at the end! The villain has totally underestimated their relationships. Anyone noticed Hae Kang is undergoing a character growth/transformation, under the ever increasing, and sole influence of one person?
