im on episode 35, im still wondering what is the reason Lishan doesnt support Empress Dowager to become an emperor? Its said at that time there's no discrimination between man and woman. And also seems like Empress Dowager is not a corrupt leader, she did a good job govern (with her son as a puppet ofc) the country. And from the flashback it told that she is one of the best Lishan's student too. Is it just because of sexism? anyone spoil me.

i personally love both of the series, but im more into Ruyi's Royal Love because the level of acting of the actors are topnotch

in my opinion if you like a 'satisfying' story, with a very dramatic and superficial character you will like Story of Yanxi Palace. but if you like a very depth story with a (somekinda) realistic story and character and love to hurt yourself, you will like Ruyi's Royal love
